The EHRC's ‘interim guidance’ is transphobic, harmful - and legally wrong.

I see a lot of people criticising Your Party for having a trans liberation group, but if the party is overrun with transphobes it makes sense that its trans members would seek to liberate themselves from what's fast becoming a trans-hostile party.
Wait, what do you mean "that's not what it means"?

This is what the EHRC's shitty Code will result in.
All. The. Time.
It's already happening, but if the Code becomes statutory this kind of gender-policing-based-on-appearance will become an order of magnitude or two worse.

important to remember that we we talk about the BBC’s right-wing bias we mean in the way they chose what to report on and how they frame those issues, and when the right talks about the BBC’s left-wing bias they mean that sometimes the person who reads out the news is black

Beyond fed up with how MPs have leapt on the chance to turn a transphobic murder into something to do with children's access to mobile phones, completely washing their hands of the transphobic radicalisation of adults that has driven this hate.

the entirety of the british press talked themselves into believing this woman is trans based almost entirely on JK Rowling's judgement of the athlete's appearance.
Nothing illustrates the arseholery of the IOC and the British Press more than the use of the image of a not-Trans woman to illustrate a story about trans women being banned (because there are no current trans women competing at this level)

But if you do want kids off screens and making friends offline then you need to address the reasons they've 'retreated'.

ps. it is arguable that Brianna would not likely have turned to social media for friendships and transitional support had those things been readily available in her local area.
@charlotte2153.bsky.social you want kids like Brianna off her phone? then give them a better alternative.

Sorry, am I genuinely being asked to believe that the BBC is biased in favour of trans people?
I cannot remember the last time a trans person was given a voice on the BBC. It's as if they don't exist. They are talked about on the BBC, not talked to.
This entire debate is just fucking stupid.

Twenty days later, one of Labour's most foul-mouthed transphobes, Rosie Duffield, has joined Labour's phone pouch campaign.
Why wouldn't she? A campaign that's working to bury the truth about what happened to Brianna, whilst insinuating that she caused her own death? How could Duffield resist?

If you'd just arrived in the UK, you'd think that Brianna Ghey was one of the growing number of children who had taken their own lives, either due to online bullying or pressure from social media algorithms.
You wouldn't think she'd been murdered by two of her classmates in a premeditated attack. 🧵

Meeting yesterday with Brianna Ghey's mother Esther - and pupils at Brianna's former school - was a powerful reminder of why controls on social media and smartphone use in schools is so important for children, teachers and parents. (1/2)

UK politics live – latest updates
Decades-old racism is returning to British politics, and “it makes people feel very scared” Keir Starmer has said, warning that divisive hard-right politics was “tearing our country apart”.
Speaking to GP and TV personality Amir Khan, the prime minister accused Nigel Farage’s Reform UK of overseeing a return of the racist and divisive politics “that frankly I thought we had dealt with decades ago”. Continue reading...

when this piece of shit is asked what good phone pouches are supposed to do, shs responds glibly about online radicalisation. where else would children learn to be transphobic in the tolerant UK, after all? ridiculous
On Brianna's 19th birthday, this morning I joined @cheshirepcc.bsky.social and the Brianna Ghey Legacy Project Phone Free Education campaign at the launch at Jodrell Bank of a new £150k initiative to make Cheshire the first county in the UK where ALL state high schools have lockable phone pouches.
