Friendly reminder that dishwashers made after 1995 or so are so water and energy efficient that even if you ran them twice fully loaded it would still use less water than handwashing the same load.

So many "green" things feel like sacrifices. Dishwashers are not one of them.

In BF Skinner's experiments, rats would be given opiods if they hit a lever. Skinner discovered that a lever that dispensed the opiods reliably would get the rats to take as much as they wanted then stop, but a lever that irregularly and unreliably dispensed the drugs would get them to overdose.
This is a side note but something I find striking is how little engagement these influencers get compared to pre-Elon twitter, but it doesn’t seem to register with them

The font would appear to be English 111 Adagio CE, available for the highly presidential sum of just $39.75 USD

Note "The" is not kerned correctly

and as silly as it is to have to be told “try not to overlook when the world doesn’t hurt,” yes, i had to be told to try not to overlook when the world doesn’t hurt and he did it in such a way that i still say it verbatim.

if this isn’t nice, what is?

i think it’s lovely.

I do not lionize Steve Jobs but a big part of his mythos was the creative and intellectual awakening he said he had from taking a calligraphy course in college. Can you imagine one of these guys today making that part of their origin story?

The thing is that if you get your data from DoorDash, it might be more convenient but the costs add up in the long run, because it’s really better and cheaper to just go directly to the data place and pick it up yourself.
They’ve laid off so many people that the government is now getting its economic data from DoorDash.

Groceries are cheaper if you do it the right way. First go to the oval office and give the president a fake award and tell him he's very strong and handsome. He will then call the grocery store and threaten them until they give you a discount. It's called the free market

or reject parts of their ancestor's legacy, or choose which ancestors to see as inspirational and for what. this happens all the time! "it's heritage not hate" is just saying, "I choose a heritage of hate." you weren't born with a confederate flag on your dna. nothing works like that.

I think this really underlines the fact that people choose racism; it doesn't choose them.

Like, people claiming confederate flags as their heritage. no one has to do that. it's not some sort of genetic destiny. lots of people reject their parents and look to other models for lots of reasons. 1
very similar to trump telling the german prime minister that he must feel bad about America defeating germany and he said, "no we celebrate that as our liberation from the fascists."
Those white residents of South Africa that Trump is trying to paint as victims?

Have this to say: "Singling us out as victims of multiracialism alienates us from our fellow South Africans and harms relationships that have been fostered over the past 30 years."
