Getting to work with him on a short story for House of Mystery is one of the great highlights of my career. He was such a gifted and brilliant artist.

Mine is that empathy and compassion are crucial practices that we need much more of. When I see people on the right say that empathy is overrated or “empathy is bad actually” I find it deeply disturbing.

The other day I was lying in bed, looking out the window on a cloudy afternoon, woolgathering. Suddenly the sun came out and the fall leaves on the maple outside lit up as if they were glowing red hot. It was only for a few seconds but it reminded me that there is still so much beauty in this world.
