If disease is caused by unresolved emotional conflicts is it possible you could raise a child so badly that they spontaneously bring back smallpox?
A horrifying, yet must-read article. That these women remain free to continue profiting from dangerous, even deadly mis- and disinformation on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum complications is a stain on modern culture.

NHS leaking trial protocols to anti trans writers pre publication
A Substacker named Ben Ryan tweeted that "the long-awaited UK puberty blocker clinical trial protocol is out."

Shortly thereafter he deleted the post. I can't find a public version of the protocol but here's what I was able to salvage from the screenshot + post.

If a service doesn't have a gender neutral option and is unable to clearly establish someone's sex at birth are they forced to ban them from both? This guidance has finally noticed that there is no record which clearly establishes someone's sex at birth.
"Trans people could be banned from single-sex spaces based on how they look. The Times has seen the equalities watchdog’s final guidance, which Whitehall figures fear Bridget Phillipson is delaying to avoid a political backlash" [Times]

"As someone working in law, it’s heresy to say this, and it might even kill my chances of a career... But as a trans person, and someone fighting for the rights of my community, I refuse to remain silent. To me it just seems obvious: a heavily prejudiced society produces prejudiced institutions."
It’s no surprise that only 31% of trans people trust a legal system built to enforce prejudice, says Jess O’Thomson.

My mum just said to me "You should be hung like a horse". When I challenged her over saying such a thing, it transpires she thought it was a punishment horses got. Turns out she's been incorrectly using the phrase since the 90s in various settings

Ok since the worst people in the world are accusing the BBC of pro-trans bias, I guess it's time to talk about how this summer the BBC completely dishonestly edited me to cape for transphobic bullies 🧵

BBC clearly demonstrating that the complaints process is worthless. You can get a complaint upheld and they will do the exact same thing again just reporting on it. None of the endless circle of submitting complaints will make them stop.
In this piece, admitting the BBC has broken its impartiality rules re. trans people, the BBC further breaks its impartiality rules by changing a quote saying "trans identity" to "trans ideology".

This appears to skip right from two ships being in the same port straight to two groups of men facing each other in, and one of them already has his dick out? What is the process of arranging this kind of event? Is this just happening in the street?
this makes me so profoundly patriotic

So I take from this that if I'm treated in any way that is different from cis women while using a women's toilet (like being asked to provide evidence of birth sex or ID) that this is direct gender reassignment discrimination? In the view of the EHRC?

I think what people replying to this are missing is that Dean Street is home to both a gender clinic and a sexual health clinic. I've been to both many times over the years, they're a vital lifeline for many people.

This is intimidation of staff and patients.
Have to say, this is quite weird

So much of opposition to "self ID" is people imagining a deeply repressive situation for trans people, like not being able to change documents without a diagnosis, or not being able to "call yourself a man/woman" without official permission, and then crying that "self ID" will take this away.
