the reason 101 dalmations looks like that is because disney incorporated xerography (ie early photocopying technology) into the animation process. rough pencils (by mostly male animators) were copied onto the cels so that disney could fire the (mostly female) inkers. remember that art can lie to you

E-action on religious observance in schools in Scotland - humanist.eaction.org.uk/religious-ob...

The new bill allows children to opt-in to religious observance if removed by their parents but not to opt out, giving one right to religious children and denying that same right to those without faith
Tell your MSP why school pupils deserve the right to opt out of religious worship

For the avoidance of doubt this means there are more voters to be won by not being racist than being racist.
Why do people think England flags have been raised on lampposts?

White adults
National pride: 26%
Anti-migrant/minority sentiment: 49%
Both: 19%

Ethnic minority adults
National pride: 15%
Anti-migrant/minority sentiment: 55%
Both: 20%

Okay. Indie brands. We have to talk.

That Harry Potter collab is a great way to ensure that if your little company survives the backlash, the customers you have left will be the kind of people who buy TERF shit out of spite or out of being completely checked out.

Sure, their money spends.

But.

Not gonna engage with the puberty blocker trial story cause as someone who had the experience of going through the medical gatekeeping before getting them was pretty traumatic and my experience is luxurious compared to whats happening in the uk now and its just too upsetting honestly

The far right targeting a primary school is absolutely disgusting. These English classes are for the pupil’s PARENTS. Just shows people have NO idea how much schools do for families and it’s only a problem when the parents aren’t white www.thetimes.com/uk/scotland/...

Again the first crisis of capital was a flight by from location (globalization, containerization etc), the second was a flight from time (easy credit, financialization, etc), and the ongoing third is a flight from reality, which is unique in that it’s both top down and bottom up
Trump supporters are also making shitty AI videos of Trump arresting Mamdani in the Oval Office.

They don't know how to process what just happened in real life, so they're making the version they prefer with AI.

I hadn't quite appreciated that every senior researcher involved in the NHS puberty blocker trial has direct ties to SEGM, a designated hate group. We have an anti-Trans, USA hard right backed group pulling the strings behind the UK NHS puberty blocker trial. It is rotten to its core. Zero Trust.
The puberty blocker trial is about to start according to the BBC, led by Dr Emily Simonoff. The same Dr who spoke at a symposium organised by Segm, a group designated an anti trans hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Centre /1

Please hear me when I say that

1) these anti-medical woo birth movements have been a primary feeder into anti-vaxx eugenic movements

2) they pre-date the age of social media

3) they exist because we have not addressed medical sexism and specifically obstetric violence

"Reform would be worse" is both entirely correct and entirely irrelevant until polling day 2029. What matters right now is that Labour's approach is morally repugnant on its own terms, *and is empowering Reform*. As things stand today, its not Labour or Reform. Its Labour *then* Reform.
While it feels like I'm repeatedly slamming my head against a brick wall repeating this massively simple concept. Saying "Reform would be worse" doesn't make what Labour is doing better. Labour is now the most anti-immigration, anti-any marginalised group, government we have seen in decades. 1/
Very long thread: As with many of Labour's anti-immigration policies, this isn't new. British police have been stationed in other countries for this purpose for a long time
It does however show how Labour is pushing more on anti-immigration than previous governments. 1/

It's just, objectively, very, very funny how this man has, in one year, gone from being "the next king of Scotland" to bringing Scottish Labour to fourth place.

It's easy to blame UK Labour, but Anas chose to embrace their culture war politics and disastrous policies. He entirely deserves his fate.
NEW: Anas Sarwar has said Scottish Labour will not win a majority at next year's Holyrood election
