Watching the GC lot tear into Cass is interesting. The narrative is that she has always pandered to trans children. Meanwhile, I'm sat hearing the stories every day of the children whose lives she has absolutely destroyed. Stories of parents who are distraught and don't know where to turn.

1 - My son and I met with Wes Streeting last year with other families. He heard the most horrific stories of children refused blockers and how it impacts them. We begged him not to ban blockers, and he promised to work with us, to have further meetings.

Also at the end of the 24 month study, after 12 or 24 months on blockers, the young people have to go back to MDT review panel at the end of the study and every year for renewed approval of continuation of blockers. There's a serious threat of withdrawal of blockers hanging over them for years.
puberty blockers for trans kids with no prospect of moving to HRT after is like dangling somebody over an active volcano and going "what don't you feel better already? you're not even falling yet!"

They have not spoken to us directly since the investigation was announced. They made the decision to take away what for my daughter was life saving care without ever hearing from us or taking into account the harm of that decision. It’s been devastating. Thank you for talking about it.

To be really clear, Sussex ICB threatened, in writing, to close a Brighton GP practice serving 25,000 patients, purely to bully them into passing over child records. The GP did not want to pass on these records, because they understood the acute risk (& reality) of harm to trans adolescents.

I keep seeing people say that although the Green Party are rising rapidly, they won't win the next election. This is the thinking that has kept us stuck in a 2 party system. Kept us voting for the least worst option. We need to change our thinking first if we want to change our politics....
