We are mums. Daughters. Sisters. Survivors.

We understand what safety really means.

Our voices should never be used to justify exclusion or discrimination of trans people.

@peterjukes.bsky.social Worth looking at Matt Goodwin's social media this morning. Reform appear to have faked up a leaflet using green stylistics & either be posting them or Matt has just posted it on his social media, misleading people about green platform. I believe it's against electoral law.

I love those 'low energy dinners' where the person proceeds to crush real garlic, juice a lemon and hand process vegetables.

Don't get me wrong, the food looks great, but ya need a dictionary.

Anti-trans ideology has:

- decemitated the Women’s Institute

- made it less safe for women to access female single-sex spaces

- made it much harder to be a gender non-conforming woman

- Reduced women to their anatomy

- increased female objectification

- reinforced sexist stereotypes

Also a little surprised at the sheer outrage some people are expressing at the idea that common courtesy can make a difference on the campaign trail.

Ok, it doesn't matter to you. It apparently *does* matter to some potential voters and doesn't cost you anything. Suck it up.

Not keen on taking the piss out of a woman who was put off by canvassers not closing a cafe door.

Is that how I pick my candidate? No.

Is forming an opinion of a party based on the behaviour of it's representatives outrageous?

Also no.

One of UK Labour's most insidious policies has been replacing real medicine with talk therapy - which doesn't work and isn't actually available.
Pretending therapy can remotely do anything for a biological medical need is one of the most evil jokes out there right now. Next they’re going to be pretending talk therapy can cure knife wounds. Evil shits.

They don't come with celebrity endorsements because the church is kinda stiff on things like idolatry, not to mention performative worship around lent.

Nearly a year into many trans people in the UK being forced to use disabled toilets or asked to work from home pending legal advice and stuff and I haven't seen a single "Izzy's boss told her she has to use a disabled toilet, here's how she feels about it" piece in the papers.

I have friends being threatened by their workplaces over the use of toilets they've been using for years without problem.

The "desistance myth" is made so much more pernicious by the fact that not only was it based on DSM-III-TR which predominately involved false-positive cisgender gay kids, but it was popularized by those who pathologized later-life transition, taxonomizing it as inherently lesser in their criterion.
I wouldn't know about extraordinary, I do not think I personally am, but the bare-naked truth of the matter is, had I not transitioned I very probably would not still be around. I spent literal decades, half my life, trying to be cis. To be "normal". In the end it was a matter of honesty to myself.
Since Cass is again making the rounds for expounding on all the ways we might make fewer trans kids, here’s a piece on how this discourse erases the lives of trans people doing extraordinary specifically because they embraced who they are. Whose rich lives wouldn’t have happened in the closet.

Sodha could be forced to wear a skirt & heels to work (& “smile!”), use a toilet based on her race & support (from lower, sex-based, pay) relatives sacked for being pregnant, gay or old.

But as a victim of her trans rights-stripping agenda, the difference is I will always fight such discrimination.

My work was one of the one 19 targetted. It sucked! Luckily I was able to represent our LGBT staff network and get them to reinstate a lot of trans rights that had been lost as a consequence of this. But being targetted sucks. This is the opposite of "equality"
The EHRC are forcing exclusionary policies on organisations. By publishing this today, they clearly do not plan on applying the findings in the case of GLP v EHRC.

This is what I try to help people understand. If you could see the way my daughter smiled and laughed for the FIRST TIME IN YEARS after she came out to us as trans, you would get it.
My father was quite transphobic, and was not convinced I was really trans at first. He thought it was a new manifestation of mental illness. But as time went on and he saw how much happier I was he's been completely convinced, and he's growing less skeptical abt other trans ppl over time.

“Will anyone in the Epstein files be held accountable?” What you have to understand is that while sexual violence is technically illegal and frowned upon in the abstract, in practice it is accepted, ubiquitous, de rigeur, and a primary vehicle for male bonding.
