Ok Minnesota, somebody knows the brand or who sells these awesome socks. We need to crack this case 🕵🏻‍♀️
I need to think about something nice and unimportant and detached from current events.

Look! It’s my socks!

There’s a November 2004 Time magazine (jarring) and a June 1997 Ebony in the waiting room of this M Health clinic. This clinic was built in like 2022.

My kid: do you have any black fabric?
Me: mmmm yes why
Kid: can you sew me a witch hat for school on Friday?
Me: Friday!

The audacity of this child when it comes to crafts. She already knows the answer because anything I can solve by sewing is a yes 😆

Obligatory aurora post: from my front yard in Highland and the Mississippi River overlook near Hartford Ave, both facing west (not much is visible to the naked eye at either location)

I love this for Ireland

“Tír gan teanga, tír gan anam,” she said. (A country without a language, a country with a soul.) Ms Connolly said that Irish will “not be spoken in a low voice in the Áras, it will have first place as a working language”.

This weekend we celebrated the completion of new public artwork at the Hiawatha-Lake Underpass by Daniela Bianchini, Pablo Kalaka, Natchez Beaulieu and Greta McLain. This 5,200-square-foot mural is grounded in the Medicine Wheel, a symbol of Indigenous communities around the world.

When I was a kid my grandma made my sister a fish-shaped purse out of shiny purple and turquoise fabric. Basically the coolest purse ever…which is why I’m so excited that Madison Makes has both a fish AND a bird bag pattern!
There’s a loon version?! #sewingsky

Dreaming of a trip to Banff in mid June, is is viable without a car? I see there is On-It service from Calgary, anyone have any experience with that or Roam transit?
Planning to stay in Banff itself. Is it a liability to have a car there or at the major sights?

transit leadership!
Thanks to the Illinois’ massive investment in transit, Chicago has a bright transit future, with the dawn coming next year:
—50% increase in every-10-min bus routes to 30 citywide
—8-minute midday headways on rail lines
—24-hour Orange Line service (Red & Blue already have it)
Acting CTA President Nora Leerhsen’s ambitious plan would also expand — from 20 to 30 routes — the so-called “Frequent Bus Network” that provides service “every ten minutes or better” between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Quarterly service changes are up! Obviously the biggest change is the E line, replacing the 6 between Westgate and Southdale via France and providing a huge service boost and a modest speed increase. However, there's much more to talk about
9: frequency increased to half hourly Sundays

Having the 9 increase to half hourly on Sundays is HUGE. You can get to costco in SLP more easily AND use the 9 as backup for Blueline to DT Mpls.

The St. Paul mayoral result is frustrating -- I noped out of this Wedge Live! episode pretty quickly after hearing her series of non-answers to John's questions, which doesn't bode well for her standing up the powers that will be arrayed against the city

I’m forever grateful for the work that Mayor @melvincarter.bsky.social has done to build a better Saint Paul. In spite of all of the challenges in the last eight years, he’s moved our city forward in ways big and small, and our community is better off for it.

This map worries me a lot.
If Her truly is committed to listening to St. Paulers who have “often been left out of the conversation about the future of the city” she’ll have to ignore her core constituency, rich white folks

Sit tight Minneapolis, we’ll know more tomorrow.
Because Frey didn't get more than 50% of the first round votes, no winner was declared yet and won't be until tomorrow at the earliest.
