We lost a member of our family suddenly this week to kidney disease. Pippin was an incredibly loving boy who did great with my children. In honor of his memory I'll be donating to the Idaho Humane Society which has accepted more than 2,000 cats so far this year and is running out of food.

If the DFL makes a calculation that independent/conservative votes are worth more than mine, why am I to blame?
Our state is in its most precarious, dangerous political environment of my lifetime and people are out here doing "Never Klob" wishcasting because she won't bring a Mamdami style of politics to an increasingly purple state.

Tim Walz was not a good governor. The credit he gets belongs to the brief Dem trifecta.

Making it so that more people have options that aren't a car = taking away people's cars
Taking away our cars can, should, and will be treated as a declaration of war upon rural America.
I find "America isn't really set up for it" to be an annoying rebuttal to any sort of proposal to reduce car dependency. Our leaders used policy to create a system of car dependency and we can sure as hell use policy to undo that. There are absolutely barriers, but do nothing is not a solution.

By the time a city issues a citation or warning to a homeowner, the curbs are completely impassable because plows have left so much snow and ice on the side of the road.

If my child can clear the snow off the top of the car, so can you.
December 31, 2025 at 7:36 PM
Sorry snowplowing just isn't practical or economical. You now have to clear snow on the road alongside your property. We have faith it'll get done because we *could* fine you after 72 hours.

There's 10ish months between now and the 2026 election. I've only heard conservative family members and political journalists crying about a four year old fraud story. Maybe I'm naive but I don't think this registers for most people with everything else that's going on.

Great piece but I think the goal of Evie is that people don't need to buy cars and can lower the number of cars per household, NOT use a car while they save to buy one of their own

“This is a workforce solution,” Brendmoen said. “It allows someone to use a car while they’re saving up to buy a car.”
Despite sudden loss of a major federal grant, nonprofit HourCar’s Evie Spot Network of electric vehicles/charging stations is expanding to low-income apartments, and pitching itself to more destinations, like hospitals and U of M parking meters. You game? www.twincities.com/2025/12/28/e...
