Michael Burnell, Jr: Veterans Stepped Up for Our Country, but Washington Keeps Stepping Away from its Responsibilities
After a new plan to criminalize 7-OH and a meaningless monthlong shutdown, Washington’s promises to veterans sound emptier than ever.

REALLY hate this new thing in the #BigTen where they don't announce a game time until the week of the #Football game. I really hope the #Gophers game for #PaulBunyansAxe vs the #badgers is a day game. Such better atmosphere that way.

A cleaned-up bootleg of the Dü's live appearance in Minneapolis at the beginning of 1985, which was a helluva year for them. It captures the energy of the bad very nicely.
Not nearly enough people rate them.

Just got a frantic call from my Greek grandmother, who was turned away at the post office trying to mail my kid a birthday present. Turns out the US’s de minimis change means they won’t ship anything to the US larger than a letter.

damn. That woulda been a good pitch last week
In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

In January of 2021, photos started bouncing round the internet of this deeply weird thing happening in the sky above Glasgow, Scotland. Photoshop trickery?

The bizarre truth:
- yes, everyone really saw these
- no, they're not faked or manmade
- they absolutely don't exist.
