This is the disabled women (self-described) who was pulled out of her car for trying to get to her doctor's appointment. She wasn't even a protestor.
This isn't satire. This is a real headline published in the UK.

The longer elected officials in Minnesota stand by, do nothing, and lecture people not to "take the bait" as their citizens are brutalized, the more powerless and irrelevant they will become as people take matters into their own hands to protect their community.

Your failure to protect your state from ICE is the reason people are in the streets protecting each other.

Wagging your finger at them while they do your job is a deep fucking insult.
State investigators have been on the scene in North Minneapolis.

I know you’re angry. I’m angry. What Donald Trump wants is violence in the streets.

But Minnesota will remain an island of decency, of justice, of community, and of peace.

Don’t give him what he wants.

Oh. Cool. We’ve entered the “deeply unethical to the point of literal evil” medical research on an ethnic out-group phase.

25 years ago I had to take a course on Good Clinical Practices in medical research and this would have been one of the horrible examples used before we had laws against this.

“These investigators will conduct a trial where children who are born to mothers who are HBsAG positive—but don’t know it because they weren’t screened—would not be given a birth dose? That condemns those children to a shorter life.”

For the grant award the CDC could buy a DECADE of vaccine doses!

For the folks pointing out that the article about green gas is from 2020, yes it is. You should read an article from 2020 because green gas is being deployed in mpls. Thanks,

UNICEF: a child has been killed every day in Gaza by Israel since the start of the 'ceasefire.'

“These children are killed from airstrikes, drone strikes, including suicide drones. They’re killed from tank shelling, they’re killed from live ammunition, they’re killed from quadcopters.”

"During the darkest days of the AIDS crisis, we buried our friends in the morning, we protested in the afternoon, and we danced all night.

The dance kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for."
I'm gonna say this with all the kindness in my heart: you aren't going to survive if you don't let your life have room for other things.

This is not a short term fight where we can just go 24/7 and then it will be over. We've got YEARS ahead of us. Take a break. Hydrate. Go bake something. Breathe.

We are in fact DESPERATE for winter coats, waterproof gloves, and good boots. We get so many wonderful donations but it is so cold and the numbers of unhoused unsheltered people are going up at the absolute worst time for it, and we run out of coats weekly.
The frigid Twin Cities temperatures will hurt the homeless; so do not gloat about the impact on ICE without also stepping up here:
If you're still able to help Minnesota, @supplydepotmpls.bsky.social is always accepting donations. $10 buys a pack of handwarmers. If you were given Amazon gift cards this year for Christmas, you can shop their Amazon wishlist: linktr.ee/sanctuarysup...

the people of MN have been murdered, brutalized and kidnapped for weeks now and have remained *amazingly* peaceful in the face of it. lecturing citizens to not “take the bait” etc is pretty disrespectful after a point and avoids the real question: how long are they supposed to take this, undefended?

Thinking a lot about the time I spent with elderly Germans who were in their early 20s during WWII and the way folks in the U.S. had always seemed so quick to judge them for not stopping Hitler et. al.

And how are we, collectively, different?

More importantly, how are we going to be different?

For people outside Minneapolis: North is the historically Black part of the city. It's been heavily disinvested from, gutted by the 2008 mortgage crisis, and got hit by a tornado which did damage you can still see from aerial photos. It's no mistake ICE is going after more vulnerable populations.
i feel for the people of north minneapolis if they’re about to become a protest hot spot from outside the neighborhoods. this is an area often neglected and ignored by even its own elected officials. people not from over north should really be judicious in how they act coming over there
Near Lyndale and 24th Ave in Minneapolis tonight, feds have reportedly shot another person.

Preliminary info is shaky for now, hearing two people injured.

BORTAC just rolled up in an armored vehicle. A crowd is gathering outside the police tape—MPD presence as well.

What if, and hear me out, they instead had to wear badges with their names and badge number. Or— stretch goal — we abolish ICE
I am introducing the Quick Recognition (QR) Act, which requires ICE and CBP officers to wear uniforms featuring QR codes. When scanned, the code would generate a digital ID displaying the officer’s name, badge number, and law enforcement agency.

ICE should be unmasked both physically and digitally.
