My family in Gaza is suffering terribly.
We are homeless & sleep in the streets without a tent. The storm destroyed our tent three times. The rains have flooded our living quarters.
📍We are pleading with you to donate so we can buy a tent to live in. It costs $100

When the AI slop summer reading list dropped last year I knew I had to write about making book lists. Thanks to @thebaffler.com for letting me go long with bewildered nostalgia & regret on 20 years of Internet book culture & how we made the slop book list inevitable. thebaffler.com/after-the-fa...

The labor involved in making lists was as close to the opposite of a transcendent reading experience as a disillusioned culture worker could get.

Our biggest need beyond coats and waterproof gloves is men's pants! We have a lot of clothes donations now thanks to you wonderful people and at this point are mostly looking for men's pants and hoodies ❤️
If you ever thought about giving me money for posting, I urge you to give it to these folks instead so they can keep my neighbors alive and comfortable.
We are in fact DESPERATE for winter coats, waterproof gloves, and good boots. We get so many wonderful donations but it is so cold and the numbers of unhoused unsheltered people are going up at the absolute worst time for it, and we run out of coats weekly.

We’re at $440. If you’re outside Minneapolis and you want to help, WE NEED MONEY. And maybe you’ll win sweet mittens! Suggested orgs in next skeet.
Ice sucks! Help me raise money for good things.

1. Donate to an immigrant rights org like www.ilcm.org
2. Send me a picture of the receipt. Every $5 is an entry.

I knit these mittens and I will draw a name on 1/17/26 and send these to the winner. We’ve already raised $165! Can we make it to $300?
