The past year or decade or so has felt like one of those nightmares where you know danger is coming and every part of you is screaming to DO something but you find you can’t move.

It is very difficult to see Israel (and the ADL, for that matter) throwing around the term antisemitism at anyone who isn’t a Zionist, especially when Bondi Beach just happened and there are enough real instances of antisemitism in the world.

I was wondering what Mamdani's first executive order would be, and I'm not disappointed by this.

He has wiped off the books EVERY Eric Adams executive order issued on or after September 26, 2024, the day Adams was indicted on federal bribery charges.

I know this isn’t right or good, but given that January is my least favorite month I try to drink a little extra during it.

Mamdani: Where else can you hear the sound of the steel pan, savor the smell of sancocho, and pay $9 for coffee on the same block? Where else could a Muslim kid like me grow up eating bagels and lox every Sunday?

2025 was an excellent year for books, if nothing else...

Damn, the AI-created supplemental section that invented fake books to read for the Chicago Sun Times only came out 7 months ago.
Sure, let the freelancer take the fall when literally no one else thought it was wise to look over the freelancer’s work.

a true ally 🥴
Maybe Adams has legitimately stumbled on an ingenious way of combining two of the longest-running preoccupations of his mayoral term... or maybe, true to form, he's profoundly full of it.

Here is a problem I never imagined having: which of the two books about Bernie Goetz should I read this winter? Not sure I can stomach both.

I tend to catastrophize, so I feel so lucky that Josh did a 2025 roundup and reminded me of some of the good things that happened. 💗 Josh was everywhere as usual, I put out a book, and we adopted an angel.

Delighted to be quoted in this piece about the fabulous @bethmacy.bsky.social running for Congress in Virginia's ruby-red 6th District.

I follow a lot of dogs on Instagram (I know, a shock) because I find them charming, and I just need their owners to know that using AI to make them appear more like mushrooms does not enhance their charm at all.

Let the dogs be charming on their own.
