Hold the fuck up! Listen, I have seen what you all publish & how you justify it and y'all are passing on something that booksellers could put right next to On Tyranny. My eyes do not have enough side.
Also: I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

Publishing, let me write a media literacy book, I am begging you. I keep being told that there's no appetite for this...

But how can there NOT be, when it's an urgent and pressing issue, especially with how we aggregate news + use of AI?

Not the important part of this, but...you don't need to respect conservative arguments or ideas because they sure as fuck don't respect yours. Deplatform on everu platform
Worth noting that the student admits that she just threw the thing together in 30 minutes without reading the paper she was supposed to be responding to.

The best feeling in writing is that feeling when all the cobwebs clear and you're like YES that is THE ANSWER!!!

I cannot imagine just...never experiencing that.

From Susan Cooper's The Shortest Day, a poem of the winter solstice:

"They carol, feast, give thanks,
And dearly love their friends,
and hope for peace."

That's really everything, isn't is. Not just today, but in life. Everything else either feeds into or draws away from them

The cost to get us from where we are now to a dramatically better world with drastically less material suffering is, frankly, paltry when compared to the wealth in our economy
It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

It's astonishing that somehow we have whole swathes of the political class that have not managed to connect "everything seems like a scam now" to a useful political platform.
Zohran: "I mean, think about when you fly.  We have made it such a difficult experience to go through TSA that there's now a financial incentive to sign up for a separate program that can move you through it quicker. We have monetized the dysfunction."

“it’s reasonable to ask questions about trans girls in sports” was always intended to mainstream transphobia.

It’s absurd that people fell for it. Democrats are constantly letting oppressors set the terms of debate instead of just saying “no, fuck you.”

The thing that really gets me is back in 2014 I think bigots in NC tried to pass a bathroom ban & it blew up in their faces & when these same people came back with "fairness in sports" too many people took them seriously when it was an obvious change in tactics!
There’s a direct line from ‘just asking questions about women’s sports’ to criminalizing our health care, we warned you it was coming, you said it would be fine and you just had a few more questions.

I honestly don't understand why any Democrats would vote for ANYTHING Republicans are proposing now.
