What will it take for these people to do the same for human driven cars? 5 fatalities this month in Bergen County isn’t enough, a jeep driver driving into a Planet Fitness and killing a customer isn’t enough, or what about the drunk driver that killed that hockey player and his brother..

English native speakers, what would be the right way of wording this long compound noun?
Transit-and-local-access-only street or transit- and local-access-only street?

From this week's state of NJ newsletter. Maybe we should ban cars from school zones instead of sending crossing guards to a war zone.

#JCcrashes We are sad to say there was a fatal crash killing a driver on Route 1 & 9 and Halleck Ave yesterday morning. Route 1 & 9 is notoriously dangerous, and there have been 4 fatalities on Route 1 in Hudson County so far this year. NJ State and NJDOT must make much needed safety improvements.

Here you go. This includes the entire Jersey City bus network.

6, 9, 80, even the 82 which is a rush hour route, seeing dramatic increases.

And the 85, 86, and 125 seeing declining ridership.

Good news, we are seeing a dramatic increase in ridership for the 9-Montgomery and the 6-Summit/Ocean.

My suspicions were correct about the 9. I’ve noticed over the past year fuller buses. Maybe that will motivate NJ Transit to run some more buses at some point.

#JCcrashes There was a serious crash with an overturned vehicle at Lexington and Marcy Ave with reportedly one person badly injured. Video at the link: nextdoor.com/p/XghqHBnntWhF

Why is NYCDOT still funding this garbage?

Research is clear: These "please drive nicely" PSAs don't change driver behavior. They're a waste of taxpayer dollars.

Here are some other things I saw yesterday:

Driver driving the wrong way in the JSQ bus station
Multiple drivers on Pavonia driving the wrong way to get around the cars in front of them
Driver sitting at a stop light, then just decided to drive through the intersection, turning left onto a one-way
I had to stop traffic on Central and Newark because drivers coming from Newark to Central weren’t letting an older gentleman cross the street safely, who had the walk sign.

Should be a fun day to be a bus rider around JSQ. The 6, 83, 88, and 84 (they forgot the 16) are gonna have to navigate around JSW because of construction on Summit.

Hey @citibikenyc.bsky.social you’re giving 1 “in” point to the “Journal Sq” station (actually Van Reipen/JFK) even though there are no open docks. And you are giving 0 “out” points for the Sip/Bergen station even though it’s almost full 🙄
