15 school zone camera violations. Why is the person allowed to drive? This is a NJ driver.
This scum was speeding on 2nd Avenue today

Missing crosswalks: Many bus riders directly enter/exit the JSQ bus station on Sip Avenue to get to Hudson County Community College & other destinations. But as with many intersections in Jersey City, one of the crosswalks is missing, forcing pedestrians to navigate around parked cars or cross twice

This is ridiculous. Also, keep in mind the policing. And the over-policing of people of color that use e-bikes.

500 dollar fine for defrauding the state, and NJ Democrats couldn’t even bother to raise that fine to $750. With all of the hit and run crashes in the state, one of these drivers could evade prosecution if they kill or severely injure someone if their license plate is obstructed.
“A bill to raise the fine from $500 to $750 and add possible jail time for displaying a fictitious plate or using a flipping device to hide a plate number was never posted for a vote in the full Assembly before the session ended on Jan. 12. “

3 toll evaders racked up more than $46k in unpaid bills, cops say
Three separate traffic stops this week revealed drivers using low-tech methods to hide plate numbers, even as some motorists employ sophisticated flipping devices to dodge tolls.

It’s weirdly, deceptively slippery out right now in Jersey City, not the solid ice but the thin, transparent film of slush. It’s like … more slippery in places where it’s usually less slippery and vice versa.

🚓 🎉 We are elated to see Mayor Solomon’s recommitment to Vision Zero & announcement for a dedicated traffic enforcement division. A dedicated division will build long-term, sustainable capacity + redouble JCPD’s efforts for traffic enforcement. Traffic enforcement is a key component to achieving VZ.

Please call and text and request Murphy veto the ebike bill if you live in New Jersey. My Mom rode a Class 1 ebike until a few months before her death at 87. It was the only way she could go grocery shopping. And lots of her friends used them to get around as well. They were life rafts for them.
We'll know within the next 4 days and 2 hours if Governor Murphy will veto the poorly written Motorized Bicycle Bill S4834/A6235 into law.

Call the Governor - (609) 292-6000
Text the Governor - (732) 605-5455

This seems very familiar somehow … People are slowly waking up to the fact that these projects bring more crash deaths, more air and noise pollution, and ultimately more traffic jams, making everything worse for drivers too. While wasting $Billions. @turnpiketrap.org @mikiesherrill.bsky.social

Senator Scutari's grossly irresponsible e-bike bill has advanced again, despite being a knee-jerk reaction to 2 women being murdered by a man using a car as a weapon. It would criminalize e-bike riders and discourage safe and sustainable transport, and it must be stopped.

Cities and states need to raise *real* money to improve their public transportation and pedestrian infrastructure. It's time for Jersey City and other cities in NJ to start seriously paying for accessible, frequent, reliable transit services. Otherwise we end up in a detrimental car dependency loop.
Congestion pricing has improved commute times, bus speeds, noise levels, traffic safety, and businesses and restaurants have seen more profits. A runway success by any measure. And a model for other cities too. Gift 🎁 link: www.nytimes.com/interactive/...
