If you know of a crosswalk or bus stop downtown that still needs attention, please drop it in the comments. Consider: if a person in a stroller or a wheelchair couldn’t get through, it’s not clear enough.

A lot of these laws seem designed to be de facto e-bike bans. I am skeptical they will succeed, because a lot of people are increasingly finding that e-bikes are a relatively-inexpensive and convenient way of getting around. They are going to ride them even if there is a law restricting their use.

I don't know where the equilibrium will eventually land, but I don't think governments will be able to put the e-bike genie back in the bottle, as much as car drivers want that to happen.

A 10 mph speed limit for e-bikes in Florida? It feels like a competition for which state can pass the stupidest e-bike laws. (New Jersey is winning that competition right now of course.) A total 'satanic panic'-style mass hysteria against e-bikes.
insane that our main vehicle safety push right now is to limit e-bikes to unusably slow speeds.

11 days after the storm, this bus bump out in a city right-of-way is mostly snow covered. There is a narrow path to the bus, with a giant slush puddle that most people aren't nimble enough to leap over.

It shouldn't take volunteers to shovel this out.

In what is considered an "extraordinary and drastic" decision, a federal judge ruled in favor of New York and New Jersey to lift the federal government's suspension of funds for the $16B Gateway tunnel project.

My story at NorthJersey.com
Was judge swayed by feds or states over stalled Gateway tunnel?
A federal judge said she would issue a decision “shortly” after hearing arguments about whether to release frozen funds on the Gateway tunnel project.
