I'm also hoping we can finally get our first low-traffic neighborhood (cough, Gowanus, cough) up and running under the new administration. We really need the new administration to move beyond just adding bike lanes and toward car-reduction strategies.

Thank you to all the volunteers from @bikejc.bsky.social for today’s memorial and freshening up the bike ghost memorials around town. We lost a child to traffic violence this year, and nothing was done about it and nothing has changed since. #WDoR2025

Hudson County built a Protected Bike Lane, huge win! Hudson County has one of the lowest car ownership per household in the nation. Space and infrastructure for people to travel around the County safely with light rail, buses, bikes, and more is imperative!

This Union is behind the Turnpike Expansion. They are the only constituency who showed up in support of the project at the "info sessions" and the community meeting. Jobs are important, but these workers deserve more than a poison pill, better jobs than worsening asthma and destroying communities.
Does anyone have worse political instincts than this guy? You can thank his union if we finally get the stupid turnpike extension killed.

If it's possible NJ should definitely do this. I have a hypothesis that east-west traffic is more aggressive and dangerous because of the lack of tolls. It probably also over encourages truck warehouses along those routes.

This shows that advocacy works! Organizing public transit riders to demand better service is a key factor in this progress. This is after an 18 month campaign, we're just getting started LFG!!!!

Finally had a chance to reach this! It's full of transformative ideas that will drastically improve public transit in NJ. @mikiesherrill.bsky.social ends up building the $11B highway expansion, and there's no money for NJ Transit during her tenure, we won't forget that it was always a choice.

Celebrating this project is annoying, a shiny object. Instead they could have followed their capital plan to connect the PATH to the Airport, serving loads more travelers and employees. This would have improved a critical regional connection between the airport and Newark, Jersey City, and NYC.

I don’t think think “estimated road use” is right approach - at the least drivers should have the *option* of getting a black box fitted that just tracks their EVs usage, but come on, Mel, impersonate a serious politician!
