Advocating for zero traffic deaths and serious injuries in #JerseyCity

We work with @turnpiketrap.org @hudcostreets.org @bikejc.org
For state roads that are not closed access highways (route 1/9), NJ State Police should patrol since it is largely regional traffic but don't leaving a further burden on JCPD resources (think JCPD circling the Pulaski Skyway to help a disabled motorist).

Both the Hudson County Sheriff and JCPD can and in the past have done enforcement on county roads. JCPD has recently increased traffic enforcement at some high-injury locations which we are grateful for. But we hope for more, and JFK lacks substantial traffic calming making the problem much bigger.

And another at Lexington and JFK: bsky.app/profile/safe...
#JCcrashes Just now, a crash at JFK and Lexington requiring fire response. Last August, another crash at this same intersection flipped over a traffic enforcement vehicle. Via Reddit: https://t.co/GO5oMLx24q #FixJFKBlvd @HudCoTweet @CraigGuyHC https://t.co/kfts2CHSEE

Also previous crash at Lexington and JFK: bsky.app/profile/safe...
#JCcrashes Yesterday at Kennedy and Lexington a driver of an SUV crashed into and knocked over a traffic enforcement vehicle. Social media comments said the SUV ran a red light.

We hope the officer is okay/recovering.
