Not going to directly touch the discourse but man it was actually jarring how many people smoked in Germany. I genuinely cannot remember the last time I saw someone with an actual cigarette and not a vape, but the Munich airport smokers lounge was at capacity

Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Let’s be clear: Chuck Schumer is the one ending this shutdown, no matter how the votes read.

Chuck Schumer is claiming that he’s voting no, while letting other Senators (Fetterman, Kaine, King, etc) do HIS dirty work.

He must be removed from his leadership & primaried for the sake of this country

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Mamdani gonna implement Shaaloani law. All disputes settled via shootout duels using non-lethal rounds with all the authenticity of a spaghetti western directed by Japanese anime enthusiasts.

(This is a timely Final Fantasy XIV reference)
Mamdani is going to implement Shannara law. Everything will be extremely derivative of Tolkien and predictable.

The filibuster is one of the main reasons Americans give up on politics and why Presidents operate by EO -- it's almost impossible to achieve anything if you need a supermajority in a country with an electoral system rigged for white reactionaries.
