it drives you insane how much erosion of freedom is justified by concern for kids when the people who actually hurt them will never face consequences

Realizing how much of my personal sense of self and purpose revolved around caring for a pet and now I’m feeling very lost without that.

I don’t know anything about Bad Bunny, but if he makes the bigots mad, then I am a fan.

I fell down the basement stairs last night (I’m sore today but fine) 2026 really said “fuck you”.

The hardest thing right now is adjusting to the house feeling so empty and quiet without any dogs.

Kona returned to the stars. We always joked she was a space alien sent to earth to pose (somewhat unconvincingly) as a dog and learn everything she could about humans. She had so many wonderful experiences, made so many friends, and gave us so much joy every single day. I'll miss you, Kona bear. 🤍

Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

We ended up cancelling Kona’s radiation treatments, decided the amount of time, money, and stress to her (and us) was not worth whatever little time we’d gain. This cancer is incurable and only gets worse, radiation was only going to be palliative. So we’re giving her the best last days we can. 🤍

Goo morning, monsters.

Absence of sunlight does not create darkness. Life flashes and blinks and glows as an ever-shifting constellation. Why ascend and wash out millions of years of luminosity? You’re so beautiful right here.

also super important to note that it doesn't actually matter *in the slightest* if you switch over to something else individually, if your industry is still using the other thing. unless all the programs are *compatible with each other* (they aren't) this advice is functionally useless
I keep seeing the “reminder don’t use Adobe here are the alternatives” image going around and folks, the problem is not just that Adobe sucks, the problem is they’re blocking legal access to decades of art files utilized by individuals and entire teams

I know signing art is a personal preference, but if you care at all about people finding you again to sell more or be hired, please do it! So much art on my walls I bought/got as gifts through the years and I wish I could find the artists again but many pieces have no names anywhere.
Artists, now more than ever: sign your work, legibly, where people can see your name when it's in a dang frame or something

It would be great if bad things could stop happening lately for me and those I care about. This year is cursed, truly.

Worthwhile thread from a labor reporter I respect.
insisting on calling every mass day of protest or one-day boycott a "general strike" is not the move. it's good to see people rallying around the cause, it matters, but if you want to be part of a large-scale labor action that shuts down the gears of capital, start by unionizing your workplace!!!
