I think the woman trying to scam churches for the tiktok was in fact also trying to scam us for our time and attention, and it worked because I’m so annoyed I know anything about it

A rare interview with the creators of the always-funny, always-brilliant, and *usually*-sexy—or occasionally anti-sexy—OGLAF!
Cooper has kept a low profile over the years, but is legitimately one of the very best artists in comics today. Read OGLAF if you're old enough to drive!

Talking Oglaf with Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne: 'We'd stay up all night drawing stuff to make each other laugh' - The Comics Journal
Other than some time off every year for Christmas, Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne have delivered a new Oglaf comic, skewering fantasy tropes with absolutely not safe for work humor, every week since 2008...

I can’t believe we’re back to medieval level conflicts like “local authorities deny catholic prisoners the Eucharist, bishop arrives, Papal sanction may follow”
Chicago Auxiliary Bishop José María Garcia-Maldonado at ICE detention facility: “Being here is an act of holiness…soon we will seek access to the facility to bring the Eucharist to our brothers and sisters; if they say no again, we will keep praying.”

If you can’t reply to my posts, it means I don’t want to hear from you bc we very likely do not know each other. It’s not personal! You did nothing wrong! However, if you intentionally circumvent it, that just suggests to me that you cannot handle encountering one single boundary, and I hate you.

this has always been part of the intended use of it, it's just another version of the unseen manager or head office or whatever higher power they pretend to be unable to challenge, they'd love to help you themselves but it's out of their hands
we should not be letting any company get away with blaming AI for their failures. I'm not even sure how we got to this point. people are like "it's just a tool" okay so is a forklift and we still hold somebody responsible when it goes wrong and hurts someone. this is YOUR AI!

UPDATE: Senate votes to advance a tentative deal to end the government shutdown, clearing a key hurdle.
Senators reach tentative deal to end the government shutdown
The deal, negotiated by a group of Democrats and GOP leaders, funds the government through Jan. 30. If it passes, it will still need to clear the House, which will likely take days.

if you were wondering how to prepare for a recession, the advice on the internet is “have a lot of liquid savings” and “don’t lose your job” 👍 very helpful, who could have predicted “having money saved” and “having income” would help a situation

remember Scott Graham was chair of the anti-DSA platform, got kicked out of the Mpls DFL convention for calling a Jewish man a Nazi, was a mpls dfl challenger, & served on the CBRC who took away Fateh’s endorsement & put the MPLS DFL on probation.
the only one who needs probation is Scott Graham.

this is CD5 DFL chair Scott Graham. who called a Jewish man a Nazi at the Minneapolis DFL convention, used minivan to look up Sam Doten’s address, destroyed a woman’s career w/ false allegations of cheating, and referred to a room of Black delegates as “u ppl”.
is this what “polite” looks like?

Dude, we’ve never met. So yeah, I was just trying to track turnout. Every other precinct allowed me, cuz I’m polite. So anyway, you got up in my face so hard so fast. So yes, I called you an asshole b/c you were. Politeness works friend.

I wish I could be the type of person who could have on a documentary or an audio book while I draw, but no. I need people being very dumb and very mean in the background. I need a carousel of Bravo semi-scripted soaps.

the democrats over years have intentionally tried to cultivate a base of suburban home owning high engagement liberals who watch a lot of TV news and can and will max out an ActBlue donation and never considered once that they too might one day start to notice patterns of behavior

WE HAVE A NEW WEBSITE
This has consumed around 4 months of my life. We've rebuilt the business from the ground-up. New site, new backend, new customer experience, new platform, new everything.
we spent two years flailing, having no idea how to run a business. now...we have more of an idea.
