To me, the main tell that it is fiction is that the baby gets infected with measles but dies from subacute sclerosing panencephalitis 9 years later, and we had practically eradicated measles 9 years ago so it at least wasn’t happening in the US! Also a sign of a very bad journalistic choice
Did other people know this is fiction? It's an incredibly bizarre choice and something I haven't seen magazines do before.

Literally every line of this is false. If you're born in Puerto Rico you are a natural born citizen and also AOC wasn't born in Puerto Rico and obviously the Democratic Party has made no such ruling.
The Democratic party has ruled that AOC can't run for President. She was born in Puerto Rico thus not on American soil. Even though it is an American Territory. I don't understand.
