She became a citizen this fall, and her first vote was to oust a Republican sheriff who had just contracted with ICE.

And the sheriff lost.

Powerful example of how it feels to make a difference:
An immigration advocate who registered to vote in Pennsylvania for the first time this fall says she is “full of hope and happiness” because Sheriff Fred Harran, who has closely partnered with ICE, was defeated, thanks in part to her vote.
Voters Ousted This Pennsylvania Sheriff After He Signed Up to Collaborate With ICE - Bolts
A populous, swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.

I think people are unwilling to give the NYT and its staff the benefit of the doube because they [checks clipboard] have been able to observe and think about the NYT's behavior as an institution on virtually all issues for the last 20 years. Hope this helps
I was at NYT for 7 years & one of a dozen reporters who investigated Epstein’s interactions w/the rich & powerful. I don’t know every conversation held at every level there, but I do know we dedicated ourselves to exposing those who supported Epstein & engaged in the abuse of girls he facilitated

No single thesis has ever been so vindicated as 'they like Trump and want him to win'
About the same time the NYT sat on a scoop tying Trump to Epstein, Maggie Haberman was downright giddy (y'all) about NYT promoting an anti-Hillary Clinton book.

might post some rambling thoughts while my laundry’s going about the Gabecube, why the next phase of the “console wars” (such as they are) might look different, and some almost certainly incorrect predictions around games as a whole.

So I don’t think the Gabecube takes over every single preorder that would have been a next-gen Xbox, but imo it doesn’t really need to. If anything is the Xbox killer it’s Microsoft and what they’ve burdened it with.

I had no idea what that meant.

Do you know how beloved that guy used to be and how loathed he is now? I think that right there should answer your question.

Amid the carnival atmosphere around the Epstein files, it’s worth noting that “me too” and the problem of sex abuse and harassment is still very much real, not a passing fad of “woke” politics. The effort to make Progressives throw women’s rights under bus is both immoral and unwise.

HBO Max added 30 classic crime films in Nov — from proto-noirs like THE PUBLIC ENEMY (1931) to essentials like OUT OF THE PAST (1947).

Including their Criterion titles, they now have nearly 100 pre-1960 noirs.

There’s even a dedicated #Noirvember section. (New adds in alt text.) #FilmSky #FilmNoir

My dad never gets the right kind of Cheez-its for my mom. I thought he was being a big dummy for a long time until, just for gun, I checked out the grocery store's Cheez-it selection. There were **sixteen** kinds. Outrageous.
On a recent trip to the 🇺🇸 , I made the mistake of walking down the grocery store aisle with what seemed like 800 flavours of pop tarts.

It was… a very American experience
