This is the conclusion I came to after testing tap for backfill
the biggest blocker is processing events off of the websocket in a timely manner. it was pretty easy to get it into a borked state if i wasn't processing fast enough. the easiest thing here was to just shove everything into kafka from tap, doing _no other_ work than producing.

Just started an epic house battle over whether you can say uni before playing the second to last card
Uno is the Mario kart of card games
Four. Games. Of. Uno. She won 4 in a row. She is an evil uno wizard

Experimenting with canvas for displaying records, using @tldraw.com and @nekomimi.pet's atproto-ui

what do you think? Would you use this? Maybe for mood-boarding? Maybe a @kinopio.club-like, but AT proto native? Even just having tldraw -> save to PDS seems like, vaguely cool?

If coding speed runs became a thing, what would the run categories be? Like, center a div any % no exploits

not sure this is what i think it is, but i like the idea of embedding widgets from different atproto apps
And now I can create a widget for myself as well

I just wanted to see some beautiful photos before scrolling through my feed and then continue reading the news.

Released in a simplified version, I'll see how useful it is and then improve implementation 🖼️

The guests arrive to my "contrarian christmas party" and discover that it's 4th of july themed. The dominant topic of conversation, against my wishes, has been how sick of my shit they are

After five seasons I think I’ve seen the strangest thing by now. It was the bowl cut.

That's a can-do attitude
todays my birthday.

it’s also the day 16 years ago I discovered that a customer for the data center I worked at had racked 3 full cabinets with over $200k of brand new server hardware on top of $80 of canned soda from our customer lounge vending machine to avoid spending $600 on mounting rails

It turns out "I'm excited for my hard-offline staycation" has the same cosmic consequences as a movie cop saying "it's my last case before retirement"

I don't get to code a whole lot lately, so my take is a little underinformed

But when I have done AI coding, I've really enjoyed using the agent to handle boilerplate and initial prototyping, and then I jump in and rework the code. It helps me get to the substance faster
lol my friend said to me that the ai coding tools are like if you got into being an accountant because you really liked doing math by hand and then the calculator came out and it's like well cool i guess i'm technically more productive but i don't get to do the thing i enjoyed anymore
i really dislike using any of these ai coding tools because it takes the enjoyment of the work out of it for me (particularly stuff like cursor or copilot), so i just don't use them. they are super useful for this stuff tho

can i have a like...global claude.md?

Because @labeler.hailey.at is fairly low stakes and is merely a community tool (not something we run in production), I've gone ahead and made the ruleset that drives it public. Hopefully serves as a good reference for writing Osprey rules.

This has always been a Bluesky-first campaign. But as of today, we will no longer be using Twitter. At all.

And I'm calling on other candidates to follow suit.
