Playing with a redesign of filters in @sill.social. I've iterated on this a lot throughout the project. This feels better than what I have now.

I’m not convinced the Magical Journalism Rich Person is out there but if they are do an endowment please.
In fact - if he put 1% of his total wealth into an endowment - that would cover the $100 million annual loss forever.

At every news organization I've ever worked at, the journalism produced in the graphics and data departments, or backed by engineering resources, has outperformed "traditional" journalism by any metric.
from my perch graphics and engineering are, like, the future of journalism, as the kids like to say. readers love graphics

Many friends in graphics and engineering from my time at The Washington Post were laid off today. What an unnecessary, upsetting disaster this has all been. Our news environment is worse off.

Oh damn I used this today and didn't even realize it was new! Felt natural, great new feature.
New: "cover image" — set an image to use for social previews for your Leaflet posts!

From a publication draft [to do: looseleaf support], click from image or toolbar & "set as cover" ✨

Just for social share img right now, but we *could* show in post previews on publication home, Discover, etc too!

If I'm reading this right, USA Today is going to build their own vote counting operation (rather than getting results from AP, Edison or Decision Desk). I've long wondered if another news organization would take a stab at this. jobs.dayforcehcm.com/en-US/gannet...
