Yes! The thing about a truly mass resistance movement in your community (and in the country writ large) is that the MAGAs can’t exactly single people out for punishment all that effectively if pretty much everyone is doing it.
Guys maybe the number one obstacle to organizing here in Minneapolis is the unfounded fear that if you get involved, DHS will put you on a list and assassinate you. It leads people to avoid organizing or act in ways that are completely detrimental to organizing. Please please do not spread that fear

NEW: House Democratic Leaders Jeffries, Clark and Aguilar say in a joint statement, "Kristi Noem should be fired immediately, or we will commence impeachment proceedings in the House of Representatives."

Sincerely love that the chuds think this is all based on folks in Minnesota reading the works of Uncle Ho, rather than being built on the same social structures that organize the annual spaghetti fundraiser
MAGA military geniuses are talking about Minnesota protestors like they are the Iraqi insurgency, the Taliban, and the Viet Cong all rolled into one.

It is hard to grasp but large masses of Americans are both racist/xenophobic AND not racist/xenophobic enough to applaud what Trump is doing. It's goldilocks shit, they want a level of racism/xenophobia calibrated exactly to their personal preferences, and you just can't make that policy. Don't try.

The biggest one is the Maine Solidarity Fund. They are doing EVERYTHING right now. We just sent them $1000.

I give a ton of credit to people who actually change their opinions.

It's the people who are like "you were I suppose right about everything, but abolishing ICE? Now that kind of talk won't do and you need to stop it or we'll never get a Senate majority" that I have issue with.
Bluesky idea: if people who didn't agree with you change their opinions so that they do agree with you, why not be happy that you are making progress - rather than complaining that they are "only just catching up"?

I can't do anything about so many problems.

But my neighbors are elderly. And I can clear the snow off of their sidewalk while it's still mostly powder.

It's really important to remember two things:

1. Without the First Minnesota, Gettysburg likely would have gone VERY DIFFERENTLY. They held a *crucial* section of the Union line.
2. They suffered unbelievable losses—82%!—and held. the. line.

The administration are fools to think MN will fold.
Every time I remember the 28th Virginia Battle flag I feel compelled to remind non-Minnesotans about it.

Captured by MN troops at Gettysburg. Virginia has asked for it back MANY times, and all governors (of all parties) have refused and told them to fuck off.

My uncle is a registered nurse(pediatric oncology), along with my mother(obstetrics, pediatric ER & immunization) and my late grandmother. Nurses are the backbone of health care, fight me.
Anyone who disparages the idea of a man being a registered nurse is a scumbag. When I was recovering from quadruple bypass surgery, male and female nurses were part of the team that saved my life. Alex Pretti worked in the greatest of all professions.

One use that will inevitably crop up for unvetted group chats is finding out who is impulsive/ignorant/malicious enough to fedpost in the group chat. Do not invite those people to the vetted group chat, also shut that shit down hard.
It also betrays a fundamental lack of understanding about sensible risk assessment in organizing.

There are some organizing activities that are so sensitive that yeah, have that conversation offline and put your phone in a Faraday bag.

AND there's some stuff you can do in an unvetted group chat.
I think it is *incredibly* irresponsible for someone like @stonekettle.bsky.social, with a huge following, to claim that Signal is just as insecure as texts or other public social media.

This is a classic “making perfect the enemy of the good” error.

I’m not voting for one more dime for ICE or CBP.

These agents are provoking chaos and conflict in American cities and killing people in cold blood.

This is our advantage, my friends. They literally do not understand things like care for one's neighbors, mutual support, team efforts that aren't for profit. When we do these things they will not understand how to stop us. While they look for the Bankroller we can just keep helping.
I mostly just stay off Twitter altogether but after double checking that the Walter Hudson post was still up I ran across this and just had to share so the Romancelandians who bought hand warmers could hear about the PROFESSIONAL GRADE LOGISTICS.

Say it with me folks: ICE is not a law enforcement agency. It's a bunch of random white nationalists and fascists they handed guns to and let loose with a license to assault, arrest, or kill anyone they feel like knowing they're shielded by the government.

This is the Sturmabteilung. Period.

Minnesota shifting narrative from "rabble rousing protesters" vs "law enforcement" to "people of conscience" vs "evil regime." This is essential to defeating authoritarianism - exposing who, what & why they are by demonstrating who, what & why we are.

AOC: An agency that is attacking U.S. citizens, kidnapping five-year-olds and using them as bait, and privately circulating the idea that they can violate the rights of Americans by busting down their doors—they deserve to be defunded, and I’ll take any step in that direction.

In case you missed it: One of the ICE observers was pulled out of her car by CBP, who used facial recognition on her.

Three days later, she learned her TSA-Pre clearance had been revoked.
This ICE observer had her TSA-Pre-check revoked.
