Paying federal taxes for two businesses is rage inducing right now. Every time I look at FUTA I see "F-U-ta, you're paying for us to terrorize your state".

UNITE HERE Local 17 represents more than 6,000 workers. The majority of our membership is women, immigrants and people of color.

Minnesota is under attack by Federal ICE Agents indiscriminately targeting people of color.

I have been attempting to shine a spotlight on the kidnappings and terrorizing happening in smaller towns in MN. Here's another example in Circle Pines. Note that ICE is flying detainees out of the state as soon as possible.

Fundraiser established for Circle Pines restaurant worker taken by ICE
The worker was reportedly moved to a detention facility in Texas within 12 hours of his arrest.

I know they probably don’t care about blending in, but kind of amusing that this guy is in ground zero for the region of MN with camo hats and work boots and he just blew his cover anyway

Is he off his shift at Minntac? Ope, nope

If you’re a high follower account, I’m begging you to not take the word of barfly retirees in a small town as the gospel of outstate MN

You’re reinforcing the NYT’s reasons for doing these mooyuk safaris

These people go to the bar at 10AM! There are no conclusions to draw except that they’re dumb!
January 15, 2026 at 8:06 PM
Himbo hockey player I knew in college, riding home from the bar in the back seat of my car: “when I get married, the first dance at my wedding’s gonna be ‘She Shook Me All Night Long’ by AC/DC”, and “my favorite food is ketchup sandwiches”
i feel like i see a lot of stolen himbo valor online and it pisses me off. you’re not a damn himbo! you’re nothing like the guy i went out with who told me his favorite artist was ‘leonardo the vinci’!

They could’ve walked literally two blocks from the Pickle to one of the shops in town and interviewed the owner (my wedding photographer!) who stocks the shop with cheeky progressive items like this:

My parents live in a town of less than 1,000 people in rural MN where the bar is the primary social venue and the 10AM barflies are the ones I pretend to not recognize when I see them at the grocery store because they melt their brains on booze and TV all day and contribute zero to the community
NYTimes has truly outdone itself with this latest in its "ask white guys in diner" genre. Thank goodness we get a perspective on what's happening in Minneapolis from people in **Nisswa** who probably mean Brainerd when they say they "prefer not to go the city anymore" www.nytimes.com/2026/01/15/u...

A loved one with dementia had the same kind of breath - my husband called it “gunpowder breath”, super dehydrated, prob due to decreased swallowing. This is a bad sign for him but a good sign for When It Happens.

If only he was moved into a care facility instead of trying to engage in war.
Every couple of weeks we get a different description of the apparently awful stench coming off our necrotic president and I think it's high time the media nail down exactly what kind of rotten meat covered in women's perfume he actually smells like.

Non-protesting dad just trying to hustle his kids, as young as 6mo, out of the neighborhood. ICE threw a flash-bang INTO HIS car, all 6 kids in the hospital now.

If anyone wondered how things turn against occupying armies there's a case study playing out in front of you.
That is what was relayed

So when you frame it as Minneapolis & St. Paul (where, yes, again the population center is), you're indirectly feeding this urban/rural narrative that lets people get real comfortable about their safety, while these people will metaphorically and possibly literally shoot your townsfolk in the back

One thing I’d like to see is my senators and governor every day on tv at 5pm holding a press conference with video of every documented abuse that ICE is doing. Curate all of the witnessing we’re doing and show it to the press.
Local parents groups asking if adults can ride school buses to help protect children from ICE after a special ed bus got stopped this morning. Like a Dirty Harry movie except the villain in the federal government.

“You know, hangin’ in there…” They are dangerously close to their breaking point and the only thing keeping them from committing multiple felonies is determining the order of operations.
Check in on your MN friends. Ask how they're doing. If they say:

"Pretty good, you?" They're probably ok.

"Just fine, howryou?" They're struggling, exhausted, hanging on but close to the edge.

"Oh, doin ok" Send help. The situation is desperate.

They really don't understand Upper Midwestern culture and how we view principle. It's a culture consisting entirely of oversocialized passive-aggressive moral rule keepers with an entirely Kantian deontological view of ethics and moral duty.
