If @mylittlebloggie.bsky.social is still awake, he needs to find the H & I channel on his device before "The Hunt" comes on at 9:30 pm.

PSA to local peeps: The NYE Twilight Zone Marathon begins at 7 pm tonight on H & I, aka the Star Trek Channel. They are starting with some of their best episodes, so tune in early and often. Mrs. Lungs fave, The Hunt, starts at 9:30.

On a happier note, when was your most memorable New Year's Eve?

Mine was in 1983, when I rung in the New Year at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a fun resort community in the Bavarian Alps. I was serving in the Army at the time.

I don't know about you, but I'm having difficulty wishing people a Happy New Year during these dark days.

I wonder if many Americans felt the same way on Dec. 31, 1941? 🤔

Oh, fer Dog's sake, @mprnews.org!

Seeing a public broadcasting news entity becoming such an embarrassing fangirl of a grotesque "reality" show that just happens to be based here is just the last insult of an already insulting 2025.

Heroes all around us.

If you are still finding it hard to be proud of being an American these days, look to these Americans for inspiration.

Better yet, join them.

The face of the most blatant fraud in Minnesota history doesn't belong to someone from Somalia, despite what the vile statements from the White House suggest.

My last day at the recycling center until February, provided everything turns out okay. I have little previous experience with major surgery, so I don't know what to expect. Mrs. Lungs will take good care of me, and hopefully my surgical team will, too.

Because of NYC mayor-elect Mamdani's swearing-in ceremony will take place there, I'm hearing for the first time of the fabulous City Hall subway station, unused since 1945. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/29/n...

Dennis Christopher dubbed me "the Lost Cutter" on Twitter when I posted a picture on him in the bike race scene from Breaking Away with me in the background, circled. I was an unpaid extra in the film.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

"Can you explain the difference between what this YouTuber is doing and what more traditional investigative journalists do?"

It pains me that this question even has to be asked, but here we are, America.

Because I choose not to spend time in the soft underbelly of stupid, I didn't know anything about this video until today.

Apparently ICE is now using it as marching orders.

Roads in our 'burb not as good as you might expect them to be, considering past history. It was the nature of that storm -- wet, icy, sticky snow, then light, fluffy snow in high winds during an all-day event. Bottom line:

@stribrooks.bsky.social is a treasure, and her news column will be missed. If newspapers had a Good Place, I wish she would go there and make great journalism and felt ornaments forever.
Please join me in thanking @stribrooks.bsky.social for years of good Strib column work; her year-end piece was her last. She’s not leaving; she’ll be doing features, likely good ones. But she was a news columnist who didn’t go out of her way to punch the left, as Strib opinionators increasingly do.

Took my 1st swipe at the drive with the trusty Toro single-stage. Snow is wet and sticky, and is quickly condensing. I may have to make 3 passes to keep ahead of this storm. ❄️❄️❄️
