Analysis of Ward 5 election from somebody who lives in Ward 5.
Couple things I haven’t seen on here:
1) Jeremiah Ellison has not done a great job of constituent relations. He’s got a reputation for not being responsive (whether that’s fair or not IDK. I’ve heard arguments both ways.)

I don’t think this surprises close observers —that Jazz voters would split in half between Fateh & Frey & Davis voters would be mostly Fateh. Only 6% exhausted ballots — quite low! —really shows there wasn’t some pool of non-ranking voters who’d push Fateh over the top If RCV was abolished.

I come from a law enforcement family, and they seem to be accepting it when I encourage them to reject this premise because the military is not even trained to deal with crime and there is no universe in which this makes sense—unless you want the military here for other reasons
