[whispers] 45-64 is not gen x and 65+ being called boomer is silent generation erasure
Backing up The Argument in NYT/Siena, Gen X still has an astonishing 49% approval for Trump (!), while Boomers have dipped to 42%.

Gen X is currently tracking at 12 pts to the right of the electorate on the generic ballot. Now 9 pts to the right of Boomers, which has to be the largest gap ever.

Here is a video taken just this morning of ICE pepper spraying my friend who was standing several feet away, and behind a fence, from agents attempting an abduction.

Nothing about their conduct has changed. We need to continue our observations but please do so as safely as possible.

Fuck ICE.

INBOX: It appears ~300 Catholic leaders — including a number of bishops, although interestingly this is *not* a letter from the USCCB — have signed a letter urging senators not approve ICE/DHS funding in the appropriations bill.

Below are *some* (but not all) of the signers.

‼️This famous photo from the Minnesota Tribune on Jan. 21 is from this incident, involving at least three of the same agents from Alex Pretti's killing.

Thanks to the people replying who tipped me off to this.

Gotta drop the glow up as soon as the director is outed as a child sexual abuser. That's the NYT culture.
"Marty Supreme" is a box office and critical hit. And our critic Wesley Morris is glad. He loved the movie and its shameless protagonist. But a lot of people hate the movie, especially the main character, Marty. Morris discusses why people may be missing the point. nyti.ms/3NKxHY0

For all the people who say it's just trans women.
This is a flat out ban on trans male athletes. They can't compete in men's leagues and they can't compete in women's leagues.

That this same poll finds Trump approval at 37%—while approval of his *policies* is at Bush II nadir levels of 27%—reminds us once again that his appeal has little to do w policy.

I'd add that it also suggests a technocratic view of politics as fundamentally about policy cannot make sense of Trump.

Here’s what I think we should do with the concentration camps. Ready?
Let every detainee out. Give all of them citizenship and reparations with no strings attached. Dismantle the facilities brick by brick. Never open another one ever again.

We also found that a federal agent was wearing a body cam that appeared to be pointing in the direction of Pretti when he was on the floor, as well as in the direction of the four first gunshots. DHS told Fox News that some of the agents' body cameras were recording at the time of the shooting.

important reporting from my colleagues @rachelleingang.bsky.social @maanvisingh.bsky.social

at an ICE raid, observer RM's car was gassed and windows smashed; they were taken to Whipple and forced to the ground by agents:

"Agents yelled at RM, who is trans, saying 'Do you like the dirt, queer?'"
Minnesotans following and documenting ICE activity here have been detained, pulled out of their cars, hit with chemicals, had agents route them to their homes and take photos. Even after the killings of two observers, they aren't stopping. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
Minneapolis ICE observers keep showing up despite risk of arrest and violence
Bystanders say they are determined to keep recording federal agents’ actions: ‘There will be absolutely no accountability unless people are documenting’
