God this guy sucks so bad. They just executed two people in the street for the crime of doing nothing. All of this was on camera. But no, Josh, let’s make it about you.

Given that OR GOP gubernatorial candidate Chris Dudley was drinking buddies at Yale with the brilliant mind behind “Kavanaugh stops” like this, it seems like maybe he should be asked about abuses of Oregonians like this. www.wweek.com/news/2018/09...

“When he went out Friday nights, I was usually with him,” Dudley says of Kavanaugh. “I never, ever saw him blacked out, never.”

Both of those shootings literally did have body cam footage, which tells you how meaningful this actually is in preventing more murders.
This should have been the case long before they killed two Americans.

Border patrol agents should never have been sent in masks and camo to wreak havoc and aimlessly run around a state 1,500 miles from the Southern border.

There's a shot in the new Melania documentary that shows Klobuchar and Trump chatting it up at his inauguration and it's a great reminder that this is all just a game for people like Klobuchar

It really bums me out that Klobuchar, who was instrumental in normalizing Trump as just another political adversary, is almost certainly going to be the next governor of Minnesota, a state currently paying a severe price for that normalization of fascism.
Here's all the Klobuchar v. Republican matchups from that SurveyUSA poll

Best Klobuchar lead is +20, worst is +14

Republicans appear to be demanding that Democrats shut down all business in the Senate. OK.
Either the filibuster ends (and Democrats can pass an agenda when in power) or it doesn't (and enormous amounts of remaining time during the Republican majority will be wasted).
What's the downside?
A "standing filibuster"—also known as a "talking filibuster"—is the nuclear option Democrats attempted in 2022 to pass the Freedom To Vote Act, falling two votes short due to Sinema/Manchin. Senate Republicans vehemently opposed it and widely promised post-2024 they won't do it.

For 0 dollars most academics will use their trademark depth of policy knowledge and actual experience doing academic research to tell you things that are more true than false
I bring this up - well, for lots of reasons. Ezra Klein’s rates were going around a little while ago. (More than 10 times what I was offered.) He doesn't have to do that. He could say no. The Times pays him plenty. He could just give talks when he feels like it. You don’t have to monetize yourself.

Professional athletes are being advised not to leave the hotel or go anywhere without their passports while visiting Minnesota.

This is not a country that can safely host international events like the World Cup.

Boycotting is not even a political question anymore. It is a basic issue of safety.
The Montreal Canadiens are playing the Minnesota Wild in Minneapolis tonight. The players have been recommended to stay in/eat at the hotel, take the team bus to the arena, and carry passports.

Perhaps we shouldn't be hosting the World Cup and the Olympics...

Peter Thiel has been open about this for a long time. Trump is a way to break the republic, which can then be replaced by “free economic zones” with oligarchs as dictators and tech as a taskmaster for helpless humans without any rights. (1/2)
Definitely seems like they destroyed the country on purpose.

Fed judges are getting PISSED. The levels of overt anger we are seeing in opinions is not, I think, at all usual.
Judge Reyes’s conclusion: “There is an old adage among lawyers. If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither, pound the table. … Having neither and bringing the adage into the 21st century, [Noem] pounds X (f/k/a Twitter).”

the brutality of the Trump admin makes it easy to overlook how bitchmade they are, bc why does the indictment of Don Lemon & Georgia Fort say they attempted "to oppress and intimidate" people by asking them questions "in close proximity" (yknow, as journalists do)
