The EHRC are seeking legal costs of £300,000 for good law projects failed judicial review where GLPs point that the guidance encouraged things that are illegal was broadly accepted by the courts.

We have to fund GLP and through our taxes the bastards resisting GLP's obviously correct point.

The amount of money that is spent on needless cruelty by our government is staggering.
It's devastating to me how much public money is being wasted in the British legal system purely on maintaining maximally destructive stances on human rights in service to the political ideology of the regime.

It is darkly amusing, for all its seriousness, that this is maybe the one time Sarwar has been right about anything, and he's been shanked for it so hard that Labour are going to lose in Holyrood even more than they already were.

The thing that's the most egregious about this cover up is that before all this happened, there was evidence from similar policy changes in the United States of rises in suicidality amongst trans youth (and also significant drops in youth LGBT suicide with pro LGBT policies).
One of the wickedest things Wes Streeting has ever done is push politically convenient falsehoods about suicide rates amongst young trans people. We have new data from the National Child Mortality Database that exposes the truth he tried to cover up.
New data shows surge in trans kids’ suicides following healthcare rollbacks | Good Law Project
A freedom of information request by Good Law Project has found that deaths by suicide of trans young people under 18 surged following the withdrawal of gender-affirming healthcare

This is grim-Labour MPs saying they prefer a Reform win in Gorton & Denton than The Greens: Reform is worse for the country, but the Greens are be worse for their careers. They want Reform to do well so they can use them as a threat to force folk to vote Labour www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

To the diehard Starmerites - when Labour gets absolutely destroyed in May, where they're looking at losing 1,000 or more councillors in a single hit if they perform anything like last year, who will you blame for it? Will it be Andy Burnham, or will you concede the project isn't working?
January 25, 2026 at 7:54 PM
'Question saying it wasn't democratic' - I made no such statement. I *asked* who the members were rather than your apparent blind trust that an NEC subcommittee must have been made of a fair representation of members.
January 25, 2026 at 7:52 PM
Having to ask permission yes. That's fine. Question is who gives it. Mahmood didn't vote because she's subcommittee chair, Starmer voted against because it's in his interest for Burnham not to be an MP, Powell apparently in favour - and the other 7 members were *who* exactly? Hence the question.
January 25, 2026 at 7:49 PM
Also - I'm not 'wrong', because I didn't make any statements in the first place. I asked a question, which I think was pretty well founded given how the party is being run.

Your high and mighty 'you are wrong' attitude is part of why Labour is getting destroyed in the polls. Enjoy May I guess.
January 25, 2026 at 7:44 PM
Or rather - you are suggesting that the CLPs and Unions voted in favour of the procedure that led to this vote?

That still doesn't mean that the makeup of the subcommittee that actually voted contained the CLPs and Unions - only that they allowed for the possibility of this happening
January 25, 2026 at 7:43 PM
How can CLPs have a 90-10 split when only 10 members voted *total*? How can affiliates have a 70-30 split out of 10 total members?

What you are showing me is a *related vote* about procedural rule changes. Not the Burnham vote itself.
January 25, 2026 at 7:40 PM
That's ... Not the Andy Burnham vote he's talking about. Look at those numbers - only 10 members of a subcommittee voted on Burnham. Pray tell, how does one get from an 8-1 vote against him, to an 80-20 split, with subdivisions for the various members?
January 25, 2026 at 7:39 PM
Lmao, and who decided which members of the NEC would be involved in the vote? Were they members elected by CLPs? Trade Unions? Or was it entirely the internal MP members, dominated by Starmer allies?

That is to say, as a claim by a disgruntled employee against an overbearing employee, one could argue it to be a sort of 'win'.

But as a shot against trans rights, which it was very clearly intended to be, it failed, totally and completely.

The media is just point blank wrong - GLP have a habit of exaggerating wins but in this case they're absolutely correct. Peggie won one narrow claim of harassment because of NHS Fife's poor conduct.

But every claim about the underlying issue - Beth Upton's changing room use - failed entirely.

With the greatest of respect - try to be less of a doomer, it's no way to live.

We can be realistic about how things will be for the next few years, but we can still celebrate wins.

It isn't going to take 20 years to fix this. This is not 1980, and this is a good ruling.

I think this is my favourite part. Judge taking absolutely no shit here. Tears apart the idea that she can't distinguish between trans women and cross dressers, and calls her out on making unevidenced claims, and on still using the toilets anyway after claiming they degrade her!
December 3, 2025 at 3:44 PM
I understand that the reason for this decision, as with Guides, is because terfs are dedicated, resource-rich activists who will bury these groups in legal cases.

But real solidarity would be to let them do it. Show the world how terfs will burn us all rather than let trans people experience joy.

The miserable bigots that made this stuff a reality are so sheltered that they will never know consequences. The only way they're getting blowback is if you pull them up on this every time they show their faces in public.
This part is *infuriating*. This cis woman heard an 80 year old trans woman say, 'This is the only place I've been respected as a woman IN MY LIFE.'

And did not immediately think, 'I will fight every inch like a dying badger to keep her in my organization.'

Absolutely pathetic.

So there we have it.

This may sound beyond the realms of reality but: the NHS puberty blockers trial is being run by a cabal of transphobic cranks.

SEGM has been publicly spurned by multiple medical authorities as outside the mainstream, and as not a credible scientific organisation.
The puberty blocker trial is about to start according to the BBC, led by Dr Emily Simonoff. The same Dr who spoke at a symposium organised by Segm, a group designated an anti trans hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Centre /1
