Emo lad I dated cancelled date saying his bat died. He was ultra goth so sounded plausible. On next meet said sorry about the dead bat & he said "no I meant my battery "

I think I would support the creation of a government special funding allocation to send a copy of The Economist this week to every household in Britain.

In an early sysadmin role, I'd been asked to make a large change. No-one had told me to use tabs instead of spaces. One quick regexp managed to break the DNS for several million computers. It was fixed within half an hour but that showed me the power of regular expressions.

Even back in the 70s and 80s when I could be hassled by the police for walking while trans, no one ever tried to stop me pissing in the Ladies or tried to make me change into my swimsuit among men.

There is no dignity or respect involved in taking away rights I have exercised freely for forty years

A periodic reminder that we live side by side with people whose values often differ wildly from our own, and as such it’s fitting that we remember that “Ctrl + Shift + F3” will toggle the selected text between title case, sentence case, and shouty caps in most Microsoft products.

When I was about 16 or so I went to a comedy hypnotism show and got up to be a volunteer. I don't think I was hypnotised. I danced like a ballerina & did the stuff he said, I'd been hiding my extroverted side my whole life. I decided not to hide anymore

*Britain is a success story
*Most of its cities are doing astonishingly well
*Multiculturalism is popular
*Mass immigration has not led to social disintegration
*Nostalgia is increasingly weird
*Britain is incredibly safe
*Levels of social cohesion are high

No, they did not.
Humans were never supposed to need to brush their teeth. Our prehistoric ancestors managed just fine before we started stuffing our faces with sugar. And other apes also manage just fine. Something needs to be done about humanity's obsession with sugar.
