Something the US needs to accept too is that without a large-scale correction imposing consequences on a large number of people, the crisis of governance here will continue indefinitely

Gonna be a long day but, no matter what, on every Election Day, Theresa and I are gonna walk down together to our polling place and vote. So i ran home to vote (benefit of living where you work). Because we all matter or none of us do. And all means all. And we vote accordingly.

I am a former Republican, now independent, not a Democrat. And the only party I feel "dehumanized" by is this man's party.
Proving yet again how closely he studied Goebbels.

I should make a version of ublock that replaces every ad with a playable copy of Doom
i don't click on new york post articles but i can't honestly say it's because of any principled stand. it's because it has so many ads that if you let it all load the page weight is around 2 gigs. you could load one article claiming that sidewalks are bad or you could run about 500 copies of doom

In normal times, this would be a major scandal occupying huge amounts of newsprint and attention.

Now, this will be buried by new outrages within a few days.

Wish I could disagree with this.
Even if it all stopped tomorrow, I don't think the damage that's been done can be repaired in my lifetime. But at least we could start. Instead, tomorrow will be worse.
A poll from the journal Nature found that 75% of researchers in the U.S. are considering leaving the country. That includes a man who’s been dubbed the "Mozart of Math." (This PBS story on the scientific brain drain is heartbreaking & ominous for medicine, imo.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLvO...

Republicans continue to posture on "free markets" and "pro-business", yet it would be hard to find an Administration more actively interventionist or politically punitive towards markets or business than the Second Trump Administration. It is statist and personalist through and through.
