👇🎯 Still waiting for the very first “enthusiastic Black Biden voters in Philly and Atlanta diners” story from 2021.

No one showed up in Madison at any point in the last decade to write the story about disenfranchised liberal voters due to the worst gerrymandering in the country, either.
"Guy in a diner" story, Dec 2025 edition.

Somehow I've missed the profiles of people in Nashville / Austin / Houston / Kansas City MO / Charlotte / etc who have been gerrymandered out of "fair" representation.

50 ICE agents swarming a public library to arrest one person.

This isn’t policing — it’s authoritarian spectacle.
Armed intimidation, fear as policy, and taxpayer money burned to terrorize communities.

This is fascism in plain sight. #TrumpWatch #Resist

I've liked JVL's writing in the past and am an ex-Bulwark subscriber, so this isn't easy for me to say, but:

Jonathan, would your opinion of the merits of MTG be different if the bill she helped pass hurt people that you actually cared about?
She helped pass a bill—which is 100% part of liberalism. Maybe you don’t like the bill. Maybe the bill will hurt some people and have bad outcomes. But that’s part of liberal democracy.

I have seen no evidence whatsoever that Marjorie Taylor Greene is "standing for liberal democracy" in any way, shape, or form.

She is a vicious bully who fled public life when criticism of Trump got some of her former allies to turn on her. That's all.
And if you refuse to give someone credit for standing for liberal democracy just because they don’t agree with your policy preferences, you’re missing the big picture. www.thebulwark.com/p/why-marjor...

So the President did disclose a CIA drone strike inside Venezuela.

And this does cross a red line of violating the UN Charter -- where the boat strikes on high seas had not.

While I've occasionally played through video games on the side of *imaginary* bad guy factions, I absolutely refuse to do this for *historical* bad guy factions, e.g. Nazi Germany, the Warsaw Pact, etc.

It means that, for example, I essentially can't play 90% of submarine simulators.
I don't know why i always end up playing the Paragon/good side in RPGs, even though I sometimes plan to do the darker/bad choices

it happens every time.

ultimately a lot of these guys have the personality trait where they encounter dipshit bullying (which is what a lot of anti-masking sentiment is) and their natural reaction is to make sure the bully thinks they are cool and shouldn't get lumped in with the rejects and losers.
Disappointed to see Jon Stewart & co joke about masking in public. I do it for my medically fragile daughter (Batten Disease). People not masking properly led to her getting pneumonia, which led to her being on life support, which led to me getting price quotes on her cremation just in case.

I don't want to live in a country that doesn't swnd these goons to prison at the very least.
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.
