I suspect it's being praised because it's 5% less aggressive than Vance's speech and the whole thing is coming as less of a shock than it did a year ago
Yeah I don't get the praise for this speech. Admittedly haven't read the entire thing but it comes across as patronising and 'our way or the highway' at best.

Just as someone with a radar for this shit I think it is worth asking why this feels like something you could get from an LLM pointed at Trump’s posting history
In latest batshit screed, Trump calls Democrats “demented and evil.” So much for toning down the rhetoric.

1) One thing we here at the Guardian are eager to understand is the impact of the ICE escalation in Minnesota. Noticeably, there was not a spike in arrests in January:

There were thousands of arrests, but not a spike compared to Dec, Nov, and Oct.

Granted this data is not _exactly_ arrests ...

This is an interesting set of arguments
Trump nominated a legit white nationalist to a top post at the State Department. I asked him some basic questions about his belief in the “erasure of white culture”. Watch this embarrassing, fumbling answer. Like he has never before been asked to explain his views.
