But I also think these videos are not just bait, but a way of manufacturing consent and support, and I don't think schoolyard tactics of "just ignore it" are sufficient when they *will* be seen by young people and normalized.

Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.

Everyone is getting upset about the data centers. They pollute a lot and use a lot of energy and will eventually be very ugly/huge vacant buildings. And I understand being mad about that. Until you consider the state of the lazer tag industry at this moment, and how much help that sector needs.

Has any reporter even asked if he is either a government employee or special government employee (SGE)? With a background check, clearance, and conflict of interest adjudication? And like, an official supervisor? Does he get a govt phone? Are his work emails and texts archived per the law?
