I'm not angry at people who want to find a reason to blame the New York Times for their reporters' closeness to Epstein, but I agree with Elizabeth here - something being in a reporter's emails simply doesn't mean their newsroom knows or even should know about it.
A specific reporter knowing something does not mean the institution knows. That is not how reporting works, not how newsrooms work, not how any of it works. Institutions are not omniscient.

I maintain my position that white collar crime remains the most underprosecuted, and more vigilance on this would have saved us from at least two Trump presidencies before they happened. These guys are sloppy, they're just also stupidly intimidatingly rich. But not richer than the State.
