Capitalism is killing us all in a million ways but to take just one example: people’s attention spans started shortening because of mass media, and the makers and users of mass media (advertisers) know this and are producing shorter and shorter content as a result. Every trend becomes catastrophic!

I'll point out that even Obama was opposed to gay marriage at first and so was Clinton. Obama eventually saw the writing was on the wall with a large movement for legalizing letting gay people marry and eventually acceded to a popular movement then Dems took credit for being pro gay marriage.
They tolerate or even support bathroom and sports bans for trans women in part because they see us as a group of people who has lost the privileges of our rights and will have them revoked. The white liberal is the baseline of humanity for them, and all rights are privileges that flow from them.

I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.

Yeah, ppl think of this as a gaming issue but really we are at risk of losing access to computing altogether, so that it's all exclusively in the hands of the oligarchy. Conceptually the end of the democratization and access to knowledge and information. And end run to a different kind of dark ages
