This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"

China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.
China’s CO2 emissions have been flat or falling for past 18 months, analysis finds
World’s biggest polluter on track to hit peak emissions target early but miss goal for cutting carbon intensity

wait a minute, how can there be "limited retroactive applicability"? How can you sue the state for something that wasn't against the law when they did it? Isn't this straightforwardly bill of attainder?

A key reason the Senate needs to be destroyed is that its internal structure diffuses accountability & captures its members
This is why ousting Schumer isn't enough. Democratic senators don't pressure each other much, they have weak leadership by design, and they want to preserve arcane Senate rules that let them hide behind process.

Without primaries or massive outside pressure, this is where they'll be.
“There’s no real appetite to oust Schumer, though. Nor is there any interest from another Democrat to challenge him, according to interviews with more than a dozen Democratic senators.” @punchbowlnews.bsky.social

Oh Sen Dems are not in disarray - they are in array - in their collective cowardice.

His cabinet was confirmed because the Senate fast tracked all of his nominations in near record time. It broke modern records for fastest cabinet confirmed.

Chuck Schumer, Amy Klobuchar and Hakeem Jeffries literally planned Trump's inauguration.

you can either regulate, add subsidies, and/or expand public insurance programs, or:
The new Republican plan same as the old Republican plan: Fucking die already.
Rick Scott told me his plan would be to take all of the remaining ACA subsidies and redistribute them to HSA accounts and people can then buy whatever insurance a state certifies. Basically a repeal/replace.
He denied when I asked wouldn’t that create two-tiered system where sick pay much more…

If my ACA plan is already high deductible then I actually have nowhere to go.

I’ll be doing without healthcare next year.
No agreement on healthcare but the government will temporarily reopen.

Wish Dems would have stood their ground.

Many millions will now shift to not purchasing any health insurance or signing for high deductible health plans that strain budgets without offering robust coverage.

The same Democratic Party that just surrendered in the shutdown fight:

- gave up pandemic relief without a fight
- failed to ban gerrymandering
- gave up on Build Back Better
- voted to confirm Trump’s appointees.

Rollover.
Wither.
Die.

Like Fox News line: Democrats win, they lose.

there has been zero noise about new leadership in the house or senate which should tell you plenty about how much Dems actually care about their complete and total loss.

it's not just that durbin would believe this; it's that he would boast to a reporter about being this much of a fucking rube.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

We found that no one is talking about climate change anymore. In 2025, mentions are 60% lower than in 2024.

Going back to the first Obama year, single-payer didn't happen because there were two Senators in the Democratic caucus that didn't want it. Looking back, I believe many more Dem Senators didn't want it but those two were willing to take the heat publicly.

There will always be "moderate" Democratic Senators who are retiring or whose re-elections are 4+ years away that will sink any goal of the Democratic base.

That's been obvious for years (e.g., Manchin and Sinema during the Biden administration).

Allow me to summarize:

2. IDF files charges.
3. IDF AG faces enormous pressure from government to drop charges. Mob storms base where it happened.
4. IDF AG leaks video documenting the molestation.
