It’s crucial that networks with Sunday morning shows not let Republicans lie about what happened today. Interrupt them, cut their mics, cut away. It’s reckless and inaccurate to let them spin a murder. The video is clear. I don’t expect this to happen, but the journalistic imperative is clear.

The absolute bare minimum demand here should be DHS funding won't pass while Kristi Noem is DHS secretary and Bovino's still around. Not just this or that mild statutory provision they're gonna break with impunity anyway. The problem is not insufficient laws. The problem is you have lawless people.

They are losing, they are going to lose, and they have also never been more violent and physically dangerous than they are right now.
If you want to understand what’s going on you need to be able to tell when a projection of strength is masking great weakness and hoo boy is this ever a time when that’s happening. It doesn’t mean it’s not dangerous, but don’t assume this means they’re winning.

More laws do nothing when they already break and ignore your laws with impunity. Consequences and removal for the law-breakers is not too far a stretch, it's the only thing that matters. Nothing else you could pass will be obeyed so long as the same people are in charge.
