I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

I usually turn my heat down to 58 when I sleep at night but I was so sick of feeling so cold all day that tonight I only turned it down to 62.

According to this article in the Pioneer Press, the hotel is owned by the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe of Minnesota. Aside from the stated safety reasons, I have a hunch they’re not feeling inclined to be cooperative with ICE. www.twincities.com/2026/01/18/h...

I mean also, the vast majority of Somalis in the US are citizens, it's weird how noone really wants to use the term "ethnic cleansing" because that's exactly the language Republicans use (they're garbage, our country is better off without them, we have to rid ourselves of them)

I was dropping off some books at the library. When I came back, I saw someone had put, get this, a little duck on my hood up against the windshield. Looking left and right, the other cars had also been treated to similar looking ducks. Thanks, mystery duckmaster, for this duck duck kind duck!
