Cuba being the communist country that tries way too hard is low key one of the funnier recurring bits in international politics. Nicky K. got fed up with Castro trying to goad him into starting a nuclear war and had to walk Fidel through why America nuking Cuba repeatedly would be bad.
China demanded cuba stop being communist 100% and try to mae some dengist reforms and Cuba said no, so China was like "lol ok "
China should be advancing their solar project in Cuba and expanding it at great speed unfortunately they don’t seem to care that much. They could make the whole island energy independent ready if they wanted to within a year probably. Especially if Cuba kept producing its own oil

this reminds me that because my parents were so strict and anytime i was away from them other kids noticed i felt way more beholden to obeying rules than them, i developed a lifelong impression that still remains on some psychological level that most people *dislike morality* and admire misdeeds
I have a hair brained notion that vice signaling is more prevalent than virtue signaling in elite circles. Most people are a little bit egocentric and selfish, but not actually malicious.

Of all the competitive authoritarian developments of the past year I think the fall of CBS News is among the most chilling. That this can happen to easily and so quickly freaks me the fuck out.
