“History shows that wars can be lost [quickly] if defenders surrender strategic terrain without a struggle. For universities, that terrain is the ultimate high ground: human intelligence itself. If we do not fight for it now, those who come after us will face an even more unequal struggle.”
I've said it before, but the first school that promotes itself as "AI-free" is going to corner the market on folks committed to learning. (gift link)

A candidate for political office SHOULD run on an “Abolish and Hunt ICE” platform.

Reallocate ALL DHS funding for healthcare for all.

Public trials that hold them accountable with Nuremberg punishments.

Repealing the Patriot Act would be icing on the cake.
ICE agents tried to quietly get Mexican food in Minneapolis, local neighbors and protesters found out and shamed then out of the neighborhood!

Thinking about this in light of a certain person's statements on military aid to Israel today
A Quinnipiac poll that was ran in August of 2025 found that 77% of all Democrats believe Israel has committed genocide and that 75% of all Democrats wanted military assistance that could be used in Gaza to be cut off

GET IN LOSERS WE'RE FLIPPING TEXAS
Buried in this article is the astonishing news that "Across the state Democrats have recruited candidates to run in all 150 state House districts, 16 state Senate districts and every other state and federal contest on the ballot". G-d bless Texas, get on their level.

yet again it seems like the ones who are *most trained* are also *most likely* to draw their weapons & fire on civilians, almost as if the training exists to desensitize them to killing or its consequences & moreover to convince them of the necessity & desirability of pulling the trigger
do not listen to anyone who says they need more training

Khalidi argues that the rise of Hamas was basically a predictable consequence of Israel stringing the PLO along for decades in a “peace process” that continuously resulted in zero meaningful concessions to Palestinian interests. Essentially burning away any sense that diplomacy could work.

It is past time for other senate leaders to demand Schumer resign.

From the absolute disgrace of a Dem proposal responding to the fascist ICE thugs terrorizing our neighbors to these inexcusable comments…

Senator Murray, you must take a stand.

We deserve so much better.

Schumer must resign.

There is no path forward with this deeply ineffectual and out of touch man at the helm of the opposition party.

sure is a lot of tax money for us to be handing proud boys pardoned for jan 6 and people who wish they could've been there, even if they weren't using it to terrorize civilians, kidnap children and help each other get away with murder, in an effort to demand voter information to manipulate

I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

The answer is for WA to become the anti-MAGA. Invest in higher ed, not cut it as Gov. Ferguson wants. Fund the research and health care that Trump and DOGE cut. Hire all the scientists and experts looking for a good job in a good place. Build a lot more housing so people can afford to move here.
Seattle’s ‘prosperity bomb’ may finally be fizzling. So now what?
It’s the awkward thing about the affordability debate. Nothing makes a city cheaper faster than an economic bust.

It has become clear that we need to organize our demands in 2 steps:

1) Chuck Schumer must resign immediately.
2) Abolish ICE (& resignations/ impeachments of the whole admin, starting w Noem/Miller).

We can’t get to step 2 from here without step 1.

Cc @citizensimpeachment.com @indivisible.org
Democrats caved and agreed to a deal with the White House, giving up a large bargaining chip to ensure their demands were taken seriously. Critics blasted Democrats’ demands as weak and ineffectual to begin with, pointing out that they don’t even include a call for ICE to leave Minneapolis.

New York, call Schumer at (202) 224-6542 and tell him that better rules and training will not fix this. ICE must be completely dismantled.

And if you don't live in New York, call your senator and tell them that the only sensible position is to abolish ICE and replace Schumer as minority leader.
SCHUMER says Democrats are “united” behind three DHS reforms

1/ End roving patrols; tighten the rules on warrants and require ICE to coordinate with local authorities.

2/ Enforce accountability; a uniform code of conduct.

3/ Require masks off, body cameras on, agents carry ID.
