This has led to massive increases in deployment, even in places you might not guess like Texas, which has more than 10Xed solar in the last 5 years en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_p...

the people who should support this the most are the people who will always drive. get as many people off the road as possible, it's the only way to alleviate traffic.

"Automakers have spent a century and countless trillions of dollars making car-dependent living the American norm. But U.S. resident still aren't sold"

This is the remarkable thing. Walkable cities have an advertising budget of $0, but people still long for them. Give the people what they want.

the primary reason rightwingers will never control culture is because everything they do is hinged upon it being a reaction to the broader culture. the TPUSA half time event would not exist without it being a representation of their grievences

U.K. might lose a prime minister because a guy who worked for him knew another guy who hung out with Epstein. Meanwhile the U.S. opposition party is telling our President, who was Epstein's best friend, that his secret police should get better training so their public street murders look less messy.

i have been opposed to ring cameras since the start, mostly because of the induced paranoia they cause. suburbia is a living hell of isolation and now we're turning our homes, which we destroyed our cities for because of perceived dangers, into fortresses still? what is the point of any of this?
i'm baffled by all the people in the replies to posts about the spy doorbells asking for alternatives. like... the alternative is a regualr fucking doorbell with no camera in it. or a door knocker. get you a weird gargoyle guy! you dont need a camera!

Cmon now guys. If any Dem says anything besides shut down until this is all gone then there's no need for federal government at all. These are concentration camps. If you're too scared to say so then you're part of the problem.
In the last month ICE has bought warehouses in:

- Hagerstown, MD: $102 million
- Surprise, AZ: $70 million
- Hamburg, PA: $87 million
- Tremont, PA: $120 million
- San Antonio, TX: $82 million
- El Paso, TX: $123 million
- Social Circle, GA: price unknown

This is unprecedented.

"50 percent of rural Americans disapprove of ICE’s handling of enforcement, while 50 percent approve

75 percent of men aged 18 to 29 disapprove of ICE’s handling of enforcement, while only 25 percent approve"
Trump is badly losing the war over ICE, not just on the streets, but also in the culture. As Bad Bunny shows, this has become a culture war unto itself. Trump-MAGA's initial hubris has been utterly deflated.

I've got fresh data illustrating the point. 1/

Trump Rages at Bad Bunny—and Accidentally Exposes a Big MAGA Weakness
MAGA’s hatred of the Super Bowl halftime performer reflects a hubris about what parts of the culture are “theirs.” But those assumptions are proving more wrong every day.

Jake Paul is a very dumb person and that he has ascended to the economic heights of wealth that he has is a testament to the inversion of our economic system and the fabrication of an actual “meritocracy,” just as Bezos, Zuckerberg, Musk also are examples of this dynamic.
An incredible turn of events here. 10/10, no notes. 😂

On the one hand, it seems like they fired almost everyone who can think critically, but on the other, that The Post would publish an “analysis” of an overtly political halftime show claiming it was apolitical demonstrates just how much things have changed. These people are rightfully afraid.
Analysis: Weeks before he set foot on the stage, Bad Bunny’s halftime performance had already become a media event.

But if you were looking for political commentary, the closest that you got was when he said “God bless America” in English.
Analysis | Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show was expected to provoke. Did it?
The Bad Bunny Super Bowl show nodded to injustices in Puerto Rico but mostly evoked wholesome family values that meshed with the more sentimental commercials.

what's crazier is that these same people are all in a panic about declining birth rates. wonder what these specific concerns are actually about?
Lots that is grotesque here, but I think the key thing to notice is the zero-sum worldview: if we take in a 5yo immigrant, this somehow displaces or harms at 5yo American kid. There's a finite pool of "American" to distribute.

A zero-sum worldview is the molten core of reactionary thinking.
Gonzales on Liam Ramos and his family: "They're not gonna qualify for asylum. So what do you do with all the people that go through the process and do not qualify for asylum? You deport them. I understand that 5-year-old and it breaks my heart. I also think, what about that 5-year-old US citizen?"
