You can’t have an abortion but you can kill your grown daughter if she disagrees with you
A MAGA freak in Texas murdered his own daughter in cold blood after they had an argument about Trump.

A grand jury in the Dallas area then *declined to indict him*, and he has not yet faced charges.

Seems like many Texans believe a man has the right to kill his own child for disobedience.

I kind of wonder if the slight of hand Elon is playing with his companies is that a lot of his wealth is tied up in an auto business he’s no longer interested in pursuing. So if he merges them all together he can spin it out or shut it down without taking a big hit
BYD disclosed plans for small-batch sulfide solid-state battery production by 2027, with mass production targeted around 2030

The batteries reportedly achieve 400 Wh/kg energy density, enabling 1,000 km driving range and 0-80% charging in 10 minutes.

How many people who "hate winter" actually just hate how snow retains and reveals the unbelievable filth smeared all over by cars
The left side of this snow bank (beside car traffic) is so much dirtier than the right side (on the bike lane).

This is all happening because they folded on the shutdown the first time and gave ICE an unlimited budget
We now have confirmation that the Social Circle warehouse cost ICE $130 million, bringing the total spent on warehouses to $714 million. ICE is also reportedly planning on buying a second warehouse in Oakwood, GA and is finalizing the sale now.

Billions more will be spent on retrofitting/staffing.

our economy is bad because we let immigrants in *and* because we kick them out, huh? how about that.
Peter Navarro: "The jobs report comes out tomorrow. We have to revise our expectations down significantly for what a monthly job number should look like ... Wall Street has to adjust for the fact that we're deporting millions of illegals out of the job market."

Why is it so difficult for most Democratic members of Congress to say this?
I will not support any funding deal that puts money in the hands of Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, and this violent agency. Defund and abolish ICE now.

I was saying this the other day, but for all the thinkpieces about liberal echo chambers, no one discusses the right-wing echo chamber that enables people to think one of the most popular musicians in the world is some niche and offensive selection for the Super Bowl halftime show
Leaving the obvious racism aside for a second -- Bad Bunny has sold over 100 million albums and just won the Grammy for Best Album of the Year and these chuds are acting like he's an obscure Tuvan throat-singing act or something.

By any objective measure, he is wildly wildly popular.
Both these options sound objectively amazing, why do racists keep assuming everyone's racist?

I believe in voting. I vote in every election, local/state/federal, against the Republican candidate, every time. I never wanted to start any shit with liberals. We all need each other. But that's the rank and file. We can & should expect better of our electeds than "The answer is Vote Really Hard."

Trump should be negotiating a "resign to stay out of jail" deal with Schumer and Jeffries right now but instead those two can't even fit the word "impeach" into their mouths. Midterms in 9 months, tell us what you're gonna do with that power.

Right, but they completely blew the last shot we gave them. I agree, they need big margin wins for anything to be possible, but they need to say what the anything is gonna be. Nouns and verbs, specifics. They haven't earned the right to just say "take the fight to Trump" or whatever.

my feeling is that if we are going to let AI loose we should start simple and low-risk, like criminal profiling, autonomous driving and medical advice before we let it handle complex tasks
It’s crazy the sheer number of supposedly rational people who were like “ok but it’s good at health stuff” early on.
When AI was added to a tool for sinus surgery: “Cerebrospinal fluid leaked from one patient’s nose. In another… a surgeon mistakenly punctured the base of a patient’s skull. In two other cases, patients suffered strokes after a major artery was accidentally injured”

I dont think any Dem who votes to give ICE a dollar should ever get a single vote again tbh
After a string of ICE murders, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries proposed reforms — and $11 billion more for ICE.

Including reconciliation bill funding, the Schumer-Jeffries plan would give ICE a $30 billion budget, higher than all but 15 militaries worldwide:
