The beauty of the eternal victim status the West affords Israel is that Israel can turn any resistance to its crimes as proof of its victimhood.
It was obvious that eventually, Syrian locals would start fighting the Israelis forces which invaded their communities without provocation. It was equally obvious that Israel would use that armed resistance as a justification for maintaining and even expanding their occupation.
According to Syrian media, Israel accuses the Syrian government of having affiliations with the "militants" (Syrian locals) who resisted the Israeli raid on Beit Jinn

This is basically the conceptual framework of 80% of German antisemitism scholarship of the last decade and a half. Coming up with weird arguments and pretending they're logically coherent and hence scientific.

Managed to switch off for a couple weeks and read a couple novels for the first time in ages. One I was not emotionally prepared for at all was this. It will make you laugh and sob and give you a glimmer of hope that none of us have to be the prisoners of our traumas.

Wenn man zwischen Philosemitismus & Staatsräson und wissenschaftlichen Prinzipien entscheiden muss verliert immer das letzte.
manchmal komm mich mir vor wie in einem nicht enden wollenden,. absurden simpsons-sketch wo immer noch ein dreh draufgesetzt wird.

If my argument would be that a substantial part of Jewry is part of, or agrees with a "new wave of antisemitism" against Israel, I would question my conceptualisation of antisemitism and if what I am doing is actually fighting antisemitism or defending Israel no matter the implications.
