Putting it out there that I’d like to branch into writing more pop musicology/music theory content for general audiences. If your publication would like a music essay that is fun, informative, and well-sourced, send me a message.
Below, I’ll give examples of things I’ve written about previously:

This is why I maintain that "We Are Charlie Kirk" may be the only piece of genuine art to be generated by AI, because the generated slop medium, the means of creation, is a message and a commentary in and of itself. I think the song's reception in meme culture says a lot.
The 10 year olds of 2026 laugh at the “We Are Charlie Kirk” song like they would laugh at the Nyan Cat theme

Forget Graham: This is a well-written summary of how Trump's actions re: Greenland have done absolutely nothing for the USA. Multiple formerly mutually beneficial partnerships are irreparably damaged and the US is no closer to "owning" Greenland. No pros, all cons.

If the person meant “pretty dumb and disengaged Trump voters who could be talked into voting for a populist left candidate who has almost no policies in common with Trump” then they are right, tbh. Obama won the “pretty dumb guy” vote in 08, it’s a powerful coalition and we are in hell :)
saw somebody yesterday refer to "soft republicans" that could hypothetically be turned to our side if we just reach out to them hard enough and i'm not sure how to tell you this but those do not exist

First time since 2010 Canada has trailed in the Olympics with NHL players (round robin loss to United States). They have won 13 straight best on best Olympic games.

If Canada loses the country might invent a new kind of mourning
I feel like unmarried ppl over 30 have to choose between “partner” and “girl/boyfriend” and the former sounds oddly formal while the latter sounds like you’re going to walk around the mall together for an hour before your mom picks you up
This is also why I cringe when people call someone they're dating their partner

There is a guy saying he knows more about music than me because he got a BA trumpet performance degree and also knows some of the professors at the Jacobs School of Music. I wonder if I should show up and clarify that the Jacobs School of Music is where I got my PhD

Here is the video in which I make the pretty straightforward argument that it is morally okay to be “mean” or dismissive to people who make AI generated art, because social pressure one way that societies decide on what is and is not acceptable, and we should not tolerate theft

And yet, every day, our most prominent Democratic politicians, scholars, public intellectuals, universities & university leaders, & other civil society organizations continue to use his platform as their primary social media outlet. One cannot help but notice this & draw conclusions.
The world's richest man is broadcasting eliminationist rhetoric about a tiny, vulnerable minority, and virtually no one is going to treat it as a scandal. It's just normal now.

As with many shooters, I think people combing through post histories to look for ideological consistency or coherence in order to support their cause may be disappointed

Does anybody abreast of computers/RAM prices know to what extent the AI squeeze on RAM is going to result in prices increasing for consumer laptops? I usually use my computers until they stop working, but if a new Dell is going to be like $400 more expensive next year I want to just buy one now

I think the annoying reputation of vegans/vegetarians is a meat industry op, because every veg I’ve met for the last 10 years is extremely chill and like “hey, if eating less meat works for you, that’s fantastic”

Unless I am very mistaken, the final clause of the screenshotted post should not be in quotes, either. If you’re going to be a pedant and bust somebody’s balls you should come correct.
Have you ever once seen the New York Times quote Trump like this?
