long live city and state
I am very proud of @cityandstateny.bsky.social's coverage of Zohran's remarkable campaign. I broke the news he was exploring a run (3 months before he announced). And when he was polling at just 2%, our publisher wrote a prescient column suggesting he could actually win.

Heartbreaking news. Another person mercilessly killed just trying to cross the street. Parking garages and peds don’t mix. This appears to be dangerous design on the part of DOT, as the article states there is no signage letting drivers know which direction is the wrong way.

The driver, who appears to be a courier, stayed at the scene and is being interviewed by detectives.

last night may have been the last time Zohran will have to utter Cuomo’s name but the legacy of this disgusting man has left a scar on our city and state. may we forever say go to hell to this version of politics.

let’s go Zohran and do not forget to flip your ballots and vote yes on all of the ballot proposals, especially the housing items. Zohran has promised hundreds of thousands of affordable homes and he needs our help to make that possible.

Goodness. Closing beautifully with Vito Marcantonio: “If it be radicalism to believe that our natural resources should be used for the benefit of all, and not for the purpose of enriching just a few, then I plead guilty to the charge.”
UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 5: Vito Marcantonio

There are many who dismiss our vision for New York as impossible. To them, I say we need look only to our past for proof of how we can shape the future.

Tomorrow is Election Day. And this is the final Until It's Done of our campaign.

Zohran Mamdani campaigned a lot and appears not to hate the voters whose support he's seeking. Here's what other Democrats can learn from his unorthodox strategy.

I cannot put into words how disastrous Mayor Cuomo would be. Just the worst possible combination of political traits and policy ignorance.

It’s worth considering how an Andrew Cuomo mayoralty would objectively be a disaster and everybody knows it—especially his backers. But they don’t give a shit about the day after, only thwarting the rise of any potential alternative. A striking demonstration of the nihilism of the political centre.

I agree with the premise that New York City is far more interesting than the national beat. this is precisely why I believe that merging city and federal elections will help new yorkers realize that local government exists and suck the oxygen out of federal coverage.
moving election day to presidential years might seem innocent enough, but in reality it would hurt our already-beleaguered local news landscape. @timdonnelly.com explains: nygroove.nyc/proposition-...

It's hard enough to get people to pay attention; moving election day will make it worse

It's time to meet the man behind @streetfilms.bsky.social.

Over the last two decades, the Queens resident has almost single-handedly shot over a thousand short videos on street design, notching millions of views and nearly 40,000 followers.

safety opponents take court street to street court
Opponents of a brand new bike lane on Court Street have sued to undo the safety upgrade, citing the long-debunked claim that it will hurt businesses and make the street less safe – an argument that time and again has failed to persuade judges during similar legal challenges.

One item missing from the article is that removing fares allows the agency to buy better buses. More doors, wider doors, doors that open faster, and better internal circulation. Current fleet is designed to around fares being collected at the front.
