To my friends in Brooklyn this is one of the wonkiest things that can be utterly transformative for democracy in NYC. This can transform the way elections are managed, what judges get on the ballot, and keep assholes like eric adams (or hakeem jeffries) from getting crucial support.
The Democratic Party needs to change. Here in Brooklyn we've been organizing for years to kick out the old machine and transform the local party into the grassroots powerhouse it should be.

To repeat: I have studied a lot of cases of autocratization over the past 15 years. Wrote about them, taught about them, consulting about them.
I do not recall an opposition so apathetic, ignorant, and inept as the @democrats.org. They cling to their power, rather than fight for democracy. Shame.

One of of aging's blessings: the more experience one gains in collective struggle, the easier and more intuitive it becomes to interpret both the high and low moments in terms of a longer horizon. Watching this reminds me how far NYC's electorally organized Left has come since Tiffany's first race.🥲
