Speaker Julie Menin cut a deal with racist MAGA republican Vernikov to secure her seat. I wonder if she supports her threatening student anti-war demonstrators, with a gun, or the fact that she has repeatedly attacked our mayor’s faith. This is disgraceful. www.jfrej.org/news/2026/01...

I’m ok. I’m a survivor so this small agitator isn’t going to intimidate me from doing my work.

I don’t let bullies win.

Grateful to my incredible constituents who rallied behind me. Minnesota strong.

I could say many bad true things about the governor's record, but I'll share just one, relevant to this:

Hochul got her first 15 minutes of fame as county clerk for refusing to follow state law requiring her to process driver's licenses for undocumented people.

She does not care about immigrants.
I'm glad more people are posting about the New York for All Act, which would stop state + local agencies in NY from collaborating with ICE.

But Hochul won't sign it unless Delgado's numbers rise in the polls. To pass it, boosting #NY4All isn't enough; we need to boost @delgadoforny.bsky.social too.
Kristi Noem is clearly unfit to lead, but here’s what we can control at home: New York for All would immediately bar local law enforcement from cooperating with ICE.

The Trump administration has declared war on the American people. The death, violence, and terrorism being perpetrated by his administration will only get worse. The Democrats are complicit.

We are the only ones who can keep each other safe. These are going to be dark times.

We have a huge opportunity to reshape how NYC schools operate. Instead of focusing on serving a select few, we need a system that is designed to serve the many. The research is clear on this.

Opinion: Mamdani should focus on diversity and enrichment over ‘gifted and talented’
Our research shows that many NYC parents don’t prioritize academic rigor based on test scores when considering which schools are best.

I’ve known Kamar for many years and he is a great choice to lead our school system. He’s a strong instructional leader, a skilled coalition builder, and someone that is committed to equity and integration. I’m excited to see his leadership unfold as our Chancellor.
If I remember correctly, educational equity advocates have said all or mostly good things about Kamar Samuels over the years.

Looking forward to learning esp. what @matttheg.bsky.social, @drkysr.bsky.social, and @zansari8.bsky.social think—and what @aqeny.bsky.social and what rjps.org will do.
Kamar Samuels is Mamdani's pick to lead the DOE, three sources with knowledge of the plan tell City & State.

Yes! We need bold leadership right now. Lindsey is ready to go.
“I cannot think of a community I care more about and I’m absolutely exploring if I can rise to the occasion for this moment. It’s been an honor and a lot of fun in the short time I’ve been talking to people in our community,” Boylan told The Post re a likely run for NYC city council district 3.

Eric Adams doing everything he can to punish New Yorkers for not reelecting his crooked ass.

More incompetent and partisan panel members like Joe Borelli will only harm our children.

It was a good day in NYC. The Council passed many good bills, including:

• The pro-community land trust Community Opportunity to Purchase Act;

• The overdue Street Vendors Licenses for All Act; and

• The Safer Sanctuary Act.

David Brooks, who wrote in the NYT last month, "The Epstein Story? Count Me Out" is... in the latest Epstein photo dump published by @oversightdemocrats.house.gov.

He should absolutely be fired by NYT for this. Major conflict of interest that he didn't disclose.

A million Muslims live in New York City. We belong here, as does every other New Yorker.

This is vile Islamophobia from the Councilwoman and it has no place in our city.

I'm searching Getty Images and found some photos credited to the Boston Herald that redact the faces of ICE/federal agents. They don't redact the face of the guy they're arresting.

I'm curious about the ethics of doing this. I don't think I've ever seen this on Getty before.

It’s an absolute honor to serve on Mayor-elect Mamdani’s transition team. We have lots of work to do, and I couldn’t be more proud to stand alongside many of my education justice comrades to help usher in a new era for NYC government!

The work is just getting started!! Let’s go!

Primary Schumer.
Just hours before polls are set to close, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer declined to reveal who he cast his vote for in the New York City mayoral election amid his continued rejection to endorse the Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani. bit.ly/49CEVpN

I'd respect Schumer more if he simply said, "Look, if I vote for & support Mamdani, then we lose immense funding from billionaire donors. I can't take that risk."

That way, while still abject cowardice, at least his view is honest. As low as the bar is, I prefer an honest coward to a deceptive one.
