Also, I think much of the public is in favour of assisting dying in situations the bill is never going to cover.

Many of my relatives would like assisted dying in the event they have dementia, rather than have 6 months to live.

But the assisted dying bill does not belong in this piece. It’s not a government bill, it’s a backbench bill, so the Lords can do what they want

@houseoflords.parliament.uk is currently doing a lot do slow down govt bills, with the assisted dying bill being the most egregious case. It is good that the Lords look at legislation in detail; ScotParl has made a number of bloopers which a revising chamber would have fixed. (1/2)
